chapter 11 • it's all in the past

I looked around and hear a beeping noise and people talking I open my eyes and see my mom talking to a nurse and The doctor I look down and I see that my hand was attached to some tube and needles.

"Mom" my voice sounds disgusting and raspy, my lips are all dry, I just need water that's all I need right now.

"Macey" I hear multiple voices coming from the room, my head was playing all kinds of games and I hated it.

"Where am I?" I start to hyperventilate and my eyes were tearing up, I hated this feeling.

"Honey, relax" my mom holds my hand but I move my hand away but my hand hits my face

"Ouch" I gently rub my face but I couldn't see that well.

"Honey please... we're at a hospital" I start breathing heavily, I hated hospitals the last time I went to a hospital was when they treated me for suicide and depression, and the other times were because my dad died and Archie and when we got in a car accident.

"No...no please I want to leave" I get up and start disconnecting the wires and stuff off my body but then I see a tube was in my stomach.

"Wha-what's this" I point to the tube and the nurse comes toward me and sits me back on the bed

"Mace" I turn around and see Alex, why does he always have to be here when I'm in my worst moments. I mean I wouldn't give one fuck but why couldn't it be someone else or no one at least.

I turn back around and look at the nurse. everything was blurry.

"I have cancer don't I" I look up at her and she shakes her head.

"Oh no, your appendix was inflamed and it caused abdominal pain, you needed surgery right away, your lucky he was with you, because if he wasn't you could have died" the nurse points at Alex, I turn and face him and his smile was weak but it was a nice smile

"Thank you" I whisper and all he does is nod.

"You can go back home, in three days" I sigh

"When did all this happen?" I ask

"It was yesterday" Alex says

"Oh" I look back down and start playing with the tube that was on me.

"Why do I have a tube then?" I look at my mom and back at the nurse

"Your appendix popped when you got here so we had to clean your body because the puss would have killed your organs and you, and since you still had a little bit we had to leave the tube in, just in case anything happened" I look up at the ceiling and think "why didn't I just die?" That's the only question roaming around in my thoughts

"Can I leave today?" I ask the nurse

"I'll have to ask-"

"Please ask" I cut off the nurse and she grabs a clipboard and goes off

I turn around and start to cry.

"Sweetie what's wrong?" My mom comes up and touches my shoulder

"I'm sorry" I wipe my tears

"Why?"

"For causing so much trouble, I would have been better off dead" my mom gasp

"Don't say that honey"

"Mom, if I wasn't alive you could've had the best life, you wouldn't need to go through so much" I look at my moms eyes and they were tearing up

"I think I'm gonna go" I look at Alex and I laugh

"I forgot you were here" for some reason he started to blush

"Thank you Alex, thank you for saving my life" I smile and so does he

"Hey, mom can you leave me and Alex alone for a moment" my mom nods and leaves

"What's wrong?" I look at Alex and his face suddenly falls

"It's not important"

"OH MY GODDD ALEX! My life isn't important but you still manage to be part of it" I re-think what I said and I feel my face burn and of course Alex smirks

"Fine, my girlfriend cheated on me with the guy nick" my jaw dropped and I speak

"You, Alex Wave Montgomery had a girlfriend, that's a surprise"

"Mianna Macey Miller, how did you know my full name?" I laugh

"How did you know mine?" I tilt my head a little and he laughs

"We've been hanging out for to long Mace" I smile

"Did the doctors see the bruises?" I ask Alex

"What?...oh no" he answered

"Okay"

"Look, im sorry about that, it's just that me and my girl- I mean ex girlfriend got in a fight and I'm so so sorry for taking that out on you" I look down at the bed and smile

"It's all in the past, am I right" I look at him and he was hiding his smile.

"Yeah I guess" we sit there in silence but he breaks it

"Well, I got to get home, see you-"

That's when the nurse barges in the room

"Well- I'm sorry was I disturbing something" she looks at me and Alex

"No, nothing important" I inform her

"Well the doctor said you can leave today, so yeah your all set you can leave" the Nurse smiles and I smile back when the nurse leaves I jump up in excitement

"YES! I can leave this dungeon" I get up and carefully disconnect myself

"Here let me help" Alex comes up to me and starts helping me take off the tube he looks up at me and I just stare into his eyes

"I'll see you" he quickly grabs his things and leaves.
