Chapter 12

Glory overlooked the hatchery. Her eyes scanning the small area carefully. Remembering the year she awaited for her single egg to hatch. Now she looked over two more eggs. One with a silver spiral and a black egg. She stood up and laid her talon on one of the eggs gently before walking out of the hatchery.

*Moss' POV*

Moss had left Eden and Cobra back at the hut. Moss walked around the city looking at all of the different dragons. She pasted a scared Mudwing on the corner selling jewels. Smiling she stopped near a small courtyard and looked around at the trees and flowers.

"Good to see you again." Moss turned seeing the albino Rainwing she sighed.

"Ghost, I wasn't expecting to see you today." Moss smiled and held out her talons as a Skywing sat down beside Ghost. He seemed so large compared to Ghost and especially Moss who was a year younger.

"Who is this?" The Skywing asks looking at Ghost. His large wings closed tightly against his sides.

"Red, this is Moss. Moss this is Red. Now that you've been introduced to eachother, it's time to go." Ghost walked over to Moss and forced her to stand. "You father asked me to bring you home."

Moss rolled her eyes and shook her wings out. She looked at the Skywings and snorted.

"Maybe I don't want go back, I hate being in the kingdom. Do you know how hard it is to have a normal life when you a hybrid and a princess." Moss growled and opened her wings taking off.

She heard a fluffy of flaps behind her as the Skywings took flight. Moss attempted to fly faster but quickly found herself back on the ground. Red had grabbed her wings and dragged her back down to the ground. He pinned her against the ground in the middle of town. Dragons gathered around Moss as she struggled underneath of Red.

"Hey get your talons off her!" Eden's voice boomed from the crowd. Red allowed Moss to stand up as Eden walked over to her. Ghost stood beside Red watching Moss' every move. Eden glared at Ghost and Red. Moss moved closer to Eden as he loomed over her. His wing began to cover her back as he drew her in.

"Well if it isn't the Sandwing." Ghost smiled. "Now if you two are done the king wants both of you back in the kingdom."

Moss growled and drew circles in the sand underneath of her, with her talons. Wait, I have power over her.

"No," Moss looked up.

"What?" Ghost opened her wings.

"No, I won't be going back to the rainforest. But you will be." Moss stepped out from under Eden's wing.

"You don't have a choice." Ghost replied.

"But you will be, as an order from your future queen." Moss smiled and Ghost shook her head.

"Future queen. You have no power right now. I've already sent word to your father of your whereabouts. He knows where you are if you go anywhere." Moss growled.

"Fine," Moss says dramatically. "I'll go back to the kingdom. Give me a day and I'll meet you here tomorrow morning. Promise."

Ghost thought for a moment before nodding in agreement. "I will allow that. See you tomorrow Princess Moss."

With that Ghost opened her wings and jumped into the sky. Her Skywings companion followed after her as the crowd began to break. Eden looked at Moss as she two jumped into the sky. He jumped after her as they flew back to the hut.

"So just like that your going to head home?"

"Yes,"

"Why?"

"Because I have to." She responded as they landed. "But trust me, I really don't want to."
