Chapter 8

Moss followed more slowly behind Eden. They had flown nonstop since she had woken up. The sun was just now beginning to set. She began to flap her wings a bit harder to catch up with Eden.

"Hey, Eden maybe we should rest." She called when she came closer. He turned his head and nodded as he descended. Moss followed quickly and looked around. She found some large trees the leaves fanning out to cover her. Eden sat down with her. His jaws full of sticks. He set them down and set them afire.

Moss snorted and walked his with her tail curling up.

"What?" He questions laying next to her.

"Fire, really?" She looked up glaring at him playfully with her green eyes. Eden smiled and laid his wing on top of her. Moss snuggled into his side.

"Yes, really." He said with a yawn falling asleep.

*Ghost POV*

Ghost sat on the outskirts of the rainforest. Her pale and strange white scales seemed to glow with the glint from one of the moons. The third a simple sliver while the second a half. The first, and brightest was close to a full moon.

Two Nightwings stood under her in the darkness chatting. She rolled her eyes and flicked her tail sending leaves on top of them.

"Hey!" One of the males shouted up. Duskbreaker. Ghost yawned and laid down on her arms. He glared up at her. She couldn't help but noticed the slight swirls of orange and red in his scales. His eyes a dark amber.

The other was quiet and hardly spoke. Queen Glory assigned him with Duskbreaker because he only talks to him. Silentspeaker. His scales a dark blue, but so dark it was almost black. His eyes a strange eerie blue.

Ghost climbed down and shifted her weight in her talons before speaking.

"I'm heading back to report. No funny business, because while you might not be able to see me I can always see you." The males nodded. She turned to leave when Dusk snorted.

"I can always see you." He mocked. Ghost launched herself forward and pinned him down. Her fangs in front of his eyes. He helped and went limp. "Sorry." She heard him mumble. Ghost stood up and flew back to the kingdom. She passed by several Rainwings, no surprise, and some Nightwings. Making it to the castle. She let herself in.

"Ghost great to see how's the post going?" Deathbringer asks.

"Silentspeaker isn't talking which is normal and Duskbreaker seems to hate the fact that a Rainwing is in charge." Deathbringer nodded. "But still no sign of your daughter." She finished her report. He nodded curtly, clearly upset.

"Very well. I'll send someone as your replacement." Ghost looked at him in terror.

"Wha- what?" She questioned backing up slightly.
