Chapter 11

Ghost had awaken early that morning as the two brothers slept on. She put out the fire with water she found from a nearby creek. Laying on her stomach she watched the two large Skywings as the slept, watching and waiting until one woke up.

She caught glimpse of Red as his eyes fluttered open. She lifted her head and gave him a smile.

"Good morning." He yawned and sat up. Red raised his head and flicked Lightning's nose with his tail.

"Ow," he grumbled and sluggishly opened his eyes. He stood up and stretched out his wings before turning to Red. "Are we heading out?"

"I was going to go hunting-"

"No, I'll go hunting you stay here with the guest." Lightning cut him off. Without answer the yellow male took off, becoming a blur in the distance.

"Alrighty looks like it's just you and me." Red chuckled.

"Um, can we go look for some fruit. I don't eat meat is I don't need to. And I've been reading, and in mist books it says fruit grows everywhere but the Sand Kingdom and the Ice Kingdom." Ghost stood up and shook out her wings. The muscles still hurt from yesterday's flying.

"Yeah, I think I saw a blackberry bush over there." Red pointed off into a small bunch of bushes. Ghost nodded and ran into the she looked at the berries and found them. Taking a talonful she began her feast. Within seconds she had moved on to another bush, leaving just enough berries for a small rodent or bird to eat. She finished and collected a few more for snacks.

Going back to the bothers they were eating a large elk. She scrunched her face disgust before sitting a little ways off. Red noticed her and tore off some meat.

"You want some?" He asks.

"No, I don't eat meat." She responded. He nodded and finished leaving the rest to Lightning. Red stood up and helped to bury the bones when Lightning finished.

"Let's head out." Lightning opened his wings and jumped into the air. Ghost followed opening her pinkish wing and Red jumped up faster than she did. Ghost almost ran into Red. She stopped mid jump to stop from a collision. But it didn't work as she ran into him anyways and they both fell slightly. Red quickly overcame the fall and so did Ghost.

"Sorry I didn't mean to run into you." Ghost apologized.

"It's alright." Red nodded and waited for Ghost to catch up. Lightning was already speeding ahead.

Making sure your name is correct, I see. Ghost thought to herself with an amused smirk. Ghost flew along side Red but kept higher so his wings wouldn't hit her. Every so often he would lift his gaze up to her. Lightning was far ahead but kept slow enough for the Rainwing to keep up.

Ghost smiled and tucked her wings as Red and Lightning descended. They landed on the outskirts of the city. Red tuck his wings to his sides and so did Lightning.

"Well here we are, welcome to the city Ghost." Red opened his wing and pointed to the city. "Your friends should be in there."

"Well it was nice to meet both of you. Hopefully I'll see you again." Ghost smiled and began to walk to the city. Red stopped her.

"So, you want stay longer?" Red asks.

"I can't-"

"Why not?"

"Because I only came to the city on orders of my queen. I'm sorry Red but this could be the last time I speak with you." She looked down at her talons. Red bent down to catch her gaze.

"Oh, I see. But maybe I don't want you to leave just yet. Lightning wanted to go the city since our sisters live here. I- I could help you find what you need to find." Red gave Ghost a smile. Ghost lifted her head and smiled back. She lifted her head.

"Ok, but if you become annoying I will leave you." The two chuckled and began to walked into the city Lightning had already disappeared in the crowded streets.
