Jeremy and I went to the pack that he was staying with and packed all of the stuff he brought which mostly just consisted of clothes, books, movies, and a few blankets. We loaded them into his car without running into anyone. We get back to my house and I realize that we never discussed with my parents where he'd be sleeping. I yell to see if anyone is downstairs and no one answers. I lead us up the stairs onto Jake's floor and yell for my parents. Once again I don't hear a response, but their cars were in the garage, so I don't know where they are. I knock on Jake's door and after a few seconds it opens. "Do you know where Jeremy's sleeping," I ask him.
"Somewhere on your floor."
"Wait, what?"
"He's here to protect you isn't he, so he's on your floor," he finishes shutting the door in my face.
"Okay, I guess we'll go upstairs then." We go upstairs and hear a lot of arguing coming from my room. I open the door to see my parents holding an extra mattress. "Hey, Fred," my mom says to me using one of my nicknames.
"What are you guys doing in here," I ask.
"Well Jeremy has to sleep somewhere doesn't he?"
"Yeah, but not in here right?"
"No! He's sleeping in Jasmine's bedroom and Amy is moving in here with you," my dad nearly shouts. Good, heart attack averted.
"Okay, that makes way more logical sense."
"Where is Amy anyway? I haven't really talked to her since she came here."
"She's hanging out with Julianna and Jasmine at the skating rink."
"Oh, okay," I say feeling kind of bummed. I used to go skating with them all the time, but it's okay they need to have other people to hang out with than just me.
"Do you guys need my help with anything?"
"We didn't make your dinners because we didn't know when you would get back, so just go find something to eat."
"Okay, see you guys later."

We've been in the dining room eating in silence for about 15 minutes when I just can't take it anymore. "I guess you're sleeping in the closet now," I tell Jeremy with a teasing voice recalling what he said about the pull out bed.
"Well it's better than sleeping in the one under the stairs," he responds making a Harry Potter reference.
"Nice," I comment, "but it isn't as fun as sleeping in a bunker."
Jeremy just gives me a look like he has no idea what I'm talking about. "It's a Supernatural reference. The 'Men of Letters'. Oh my gosh."
"What?"
"Have you not watched any of the show when or after they were fighting Abbadon?"
"I quit watching it after the apocalypse," he replies like it isn't a big deal.
My jaw drops and I try to start a sentence three times, but no sound comes out. "How could you do that? You just left Sam in the cage with Lucifer and went on with your life! What kind of horrible person are you? That's it we're watching Supernatural every day after school until you're caught up."
Jeremy is stunned after hearing what I had to say, I guess it's just because I'm not normally like that. I'm getting more and more comfortable around him at least enough to where I can be my geeky self.
"Okay," Jeremy says drawing it out with a weird expression on his face.
"What?"
"Nothing," Jeremy replies with a gleam in his eyes.

When the rest of the girls got back from the skating rink we told Amy that she was now going to be sharing a room with me and she was actually really excited about it. "Really? Yay! It'll be like a sleepover every night!"
"At sleepovers you don't normally sleep though, and I require an exorbitant amount of sleep to function and not be extremely grouchy," I respond.
"Sister if there was a competition for sleeping, I can pretty much guarantee that I would win every single time."
"Then we're going to get along just fine," I respond with a smile on my face. It didn't even bother me that she called me her sister and I don't know how to feel about that.
Later when we were getting ready for bed after we brought all of her stuff into my room and got it all situated she asked me a question, "So do you like my brother?"
I take a couple of seconds to mull over the question in my mind before I answer, "That's really complicated. I know that he likes me and it may or may not be just because of the mate bond. Now, I can feel the mate bond too which is definitely freaky. I do like him, but I'm not entirely sure if I feel like I could have someone like me again without having an alternative motive."
"Because of what that Calvin guy did to you?"
"Right."
"Josephine, I may not always get along with my brother, but I do know that he likes you and would never want to hurt you. If you think that it's just because of the mate bond, then you're wrong; the only thing the mate bond does is make sure that you take a second look at that special someone, it does not make them fall in love."
"Have you found your mate yet?"
"No, I haven't, but I'm not giving up hope or anything normally you don't find your mate until you're in your early 20's."
"Are you worried or curious about who it's going to be?"
"I'm certain that the Moon Goddess knows what she's doing and will find the perfect guy for me. I just want him to treat me right."
"We better get to sleep," I say turning off the light as she climbs under her covers. I mostly just cut the conversation short because I need to think things over. After all that's happened today I'm completely exhausted and decide that I can deal with things in the morning. This is going to be a long week.
