After I got dressed we went out to the field and I bet you can't guess who I got paired up with. Jeremy, which means that there is even more chances of embarrassing myself in front of him. Yay me...not.

We've been walking the fence watching for the deer, hoping we stir some of them up. Jeremy tries to say something, but I shush him. We are hunting after all, we are supposed to be quiet. A few paces later we hear another wolf howling and Jeremy grabs a hold of me. "Do they seriously scare you that much? Earlier you ran down the stairs and now you're grabbing my arm."

"Just stay close to me, alright?"

"Yeah, fine whatever."

We've been walking along the fence row for at least ten minutes after the wolf howled, and we're coming up on the pond when a red wolf appears. Jeremy moves in between me and the wolf just as the wolf starts to run towards us.

The next thing I see is Jeremy changing into a wolf form. I have to be losing my mind because there's no way this is happening. The wolf that's in front of me is a lot bigger than the one that attacked Jeremy and I (wherever he went) and it's also brown in color. I hear a loud growl that sends shivers down my spine. This can't be happening, there's no way. This isn't possible, I mean I read a lot of werewolf books but they're not real.

The red wolf that came after us charges the brown wolf in front of me and pushes it away with its large paws. The red wolf growls again as I start to back up, and then the brown wolf looks at me. The red wolf apparently saw this as an opportunity and tries to bite into its throat. The brown wolf saw it coming and tackled the red wolf to the ground and ripped a part of its throat out.

The brown wolf then turns and looks at me. I can see the crimson blood of the red wolf on its muzzle, and I shrink back. Seeing my expression the brown wolf whines and sinks to the ground while staring up at me. Crouching low to the ground it crawls towards me. I start to back away again and it whines even more.

"Is that you Jeremy? If it's not and you're around here laughing at me because I'm seriously considering that this wolf is you, come out and tell me right now."

I'm met with silence. "Is that really you Jeremy," I ask getting closer and putting my hand down towards the wolf. It starts to nod and I yank my hand back and it whines again. Geese this wolf whines a lot.

"Wait, did you just nod your head?" It nods it's head again and I approach it once more. "That's really you isn't it," I ask putting my hand on its head and then start petting it. The wolf purrs in response. "Oh my god. That's why you wanted to know why I believe in werewolves after seeing my books. Will you shift back? I'll turn around and you can use my jacket to cover up."

Once again the wolf nods so I turn around and take off my hunter's orange jacket. Right after I turned around I could hear the sound of bones cracking, and in the next instant I can feel his warm breath in my ear. "Turn around, I don't need the jacket."

Shivering and not from the cold, I say like the total moron that I am, "From what I've read if I turn around, you'll be naked and I really don't want to see that."

I can hear his deep throaty laugh then he says, "Well then your books are wrong. Our clothes stay on our bodies and don't disappear into thin air or rip."

"Oh," I say turning back around with red cheeks.

"So I guess I should explain," he says while scratching at the back of his head.

"Yeah, that would be great."

"Well umm, my pack moved from Ault, Colorado to Unionville, Missouri. We have been in this area for a week as of today. I went out for a run and I found you while you were on your tractor last week. So I had my friend Mark, he's my Beta actually, meet me so we could follow you home. And we did, so now I'm staying with a pack in Chillicothe so I can go to school there and be with you. You weren't supposed to find out like this, but either way I hope that you will accept me and my pack, to be our Luna."

I understand all of the words he's saying, but it doesn't make any sense. "So you're a werewolf and wait... you said your Beta and you referred to me as Luna. You're an Alpha," I question but it comes out more of a scream.

Jeremy just laughs at my outburst, "Yes I am and if you accept you'll be my Luna," he says while brushing my hair behind my back.

"I think we should go back to the house so I can think about what just happened."

"Okay," he says while taking his hand away from my hair.

I walk into the house and go straight upstairs into the girls' room and fall onto the nearest bed. I have to think about what all of that stuff means and come to terms with werewolves being real. "So I heard you know our secret," Amy says jolting me into reality.

"What secret?"

"That we're werewolves," she says in a uh-oh tone. "Wait you did know that didn't you?"

"What are you talking about," I question I mean I know that Jeremy is a werewolf and now Amy's trying to tell me that she's a werewolf.

"He didn't tell you that I'm his sister did he?"

"You're in foster care, what are you talking about? You can't be his sister," I say trying not to go into panic mode.

"I'm his sister and Mark is his Beta, we're not actually in foster care you know. Your dad knows who we are because he grew up here and he told your mom in order for us to stay."

"My dad does not know about werewolves and even if he did your pack just moved here like last week!"

"Yes, my pack did but we just came to protect my cousin's pack. The Half Moon Pack has lived here for over 50 years."

"Okay, but that still doesn't explain why my dad would know about them."

"Everyone who grew up here or lives here now is told that way they will only shoot a wolf if one attacks them, so there won't be any accidental deaths."

"Okay," I say slowly taking in and understanding what happened. "Why did your cousin's pack need protecting?"

"There's a big pack going after them about two or three times their size and they needed help in defending their territory."

"Gotcha, so who knows who you are? I mean you just told me that my dad does but who else?"

"Well your mom because she obviously knows that we're not really in foster care, and your brother."

"Wait, why does he know?"

"Well your parents told him the first night that Jeremy went over there. He didn't tell him while you guys were at school because he didn't want him to start freaking out, but he did get told eventually."

"So everyone knew before I did even though I'm the mate? How does that make sense?"

"Well your family knows because most girls trust their dad and brother on who to and who not to date, but apparently with you it's your cousin and uncle."

"So they found out so Jeremy could get approval?"

"Yes, he's trying to do it the right way."

"But why would you and Mark impersonate foster kids?"

"Well, even though you're the Luna and it's considered an honor to guard her but since we moved here and are protecting our cousin's pack we're targets now too. Therefore you're in danger."

"Oh, well that's awesome."

"But now that you know if you would prefer Jeremy could move in with you guys until you finish the school year and you could come here for the summer and Mark and I can leave."

"I don't want to make you guys leave and I don't want Jeremy around 24-7 because that would be really awkward. Not to mention how we would explain to people the foster kids that we're there for a week then gone and why Jeremy moved in." The room is silent for a minute then I start talking again, "I need to go think about this. I'm taking my tractor and I'll be back before six or when I get cold whichever comes first."
