"Ashton!" someone called and I looked to see Michael running at me.
"What?" I asked, staring at him.
"Luke's in the bathroom and he won't come out. At all. I'm scared," he whispered and I ran all the way to the tour bus.
I started banging on the bathroom door, wanting Luke to open it up.
"Luke? It's Ash, c'mon please open up!" I begged.
"I'm such a fuck up, Ash," he sobbed and I felt my heart skip a beat. Was he doing what I think he was doing in there?
"No you're not, Lukey, now let me in," I said sternly and twisted the door knob.
"I'm sorry, Ashton. I didn't mean to call you an attention whore, or an emo freak. You're none of those."
"Let me in!"
The door opened and Luke was sitting on the floor, curled into a ball. I rushed over to him and kneed down to his height.
"Hey, Lukey?" I asked and he continued sobbing into his knees. "Can you look at me, Luke?" I asked and he looked up at me, blue eyes red rimmed and shining with tears. "Hey, there are those beautiful eyes." I smiled and his bottom lip quivered. I wiped away a stray tear. "No, Lukey, don't cry, it's okay."
"You still hurt yourself," he whispered and I sighed.
"Yeah, but I'll try to stop, okay Luke?" I asked and he nodded, before his eyes filled with tears again and his lips quivered. "Hey, hey, don't cry. Why are you crying?"
"You said you'd try to stop last time, and you didn't," he said like a child and I smiled softly at him.
"This time I'm serious, I promise."
"A promise-"
"Means forever, Lukey. And I promise, okay? Now can you smile for me?" I asked, one of my hands lightly cupping one of his cheeks. A small smile played on his lips and I felt myself smile as well. "Hey, there we go."
Luke stared at me for a little bit, his smile falling.
"Lukey, what's wrong?" I asked and he bit his lip before he did something even I didn't expect.
He closed his eyes and placed his lips on mine.
