"I don't wanna let this go, I don't wanna lose control, I just wanna see the stars with you," -Troye Sivan, 'The Fault in Our Stars'
Luke's P.O.V.
I dialed my mum's number and waited. She answered immediately.
"Lukey? Is something wrong?" she asked, worry in her voice.
"No, nothing's wrong," I assured her and she sighed.
"That's good," she let out a breath. "Is there a reason you called me?"
"Um, yeah...there actually is," I whispered and she sighed.
"You know that you can tell me anything, right?"
"Yes, mum," I told her and though about how I was going to say it.
'Mum, I'm bi. I'm bisexual. But I'm still your little Lukey, the one you're so proud of, the one you love so much. I'm still the same Luke, mum, I'm still normal, nothing's wrong with me. I'm still your little Lukey.'
Should I say that? I don't know, I think I'd get too choked up.
"Mum, I-" I got choked up, just like I thought I would and covered my mouth, tears filling my eyes.
"Luke? Is everything okay?"
"Mum, I'm bi. I'm bisexual. But I'm still your little Lukey, the one you're so proud of, the one you love so much. I'm still the same Luke, mum, I'm still normal, nothing's wrong with me. I'm still your little Lukey," I said and felt the tears slide down my cheeks as I awaited her response. She was quiet for a while.
"Luke, that's nothing to be ashamed of," she told me. "Were you scared that I wouldn't accept you?"
"Y-yes," I said, wiping my cheeks.
"Are you crying?"
"Maybe."
"Awe I wish I could come give you a hug. You're right, you still are my little Lukey, and I'm so proud of you for telling me."
"That's...that's not all mum," I whispered and she stopped talking. "I have a boyfriend."
I think she might have stopped breathing. I stayed silent and waited. In what seemed like hours, but must've only been about a minute, she responded.
"Is it Ashton?"
I stopped.
"How'd you know?"
"Lucky guess. Did you ask him or...?"
"I asked him."
"I just won a lot of money," she whispered and I stopped, confused.
"What do you mean?"
"Let's just say, Ashton's mum and I made a bet..."
"Oh God."
"But, hey, I won, so yay! I have to go Lukey, but I love you."
"Love you too."
"You love Ashton too," she sang before hanging up. I stared at the phone before laughing. I quickly made sure it looked like I wasn't crying before walking into the bunk area, where Ashton was laying down. I crawled in and cuddled him towards me, noticing that he was still on the phone. He said a few things before hanging up and placing his face into my neck. I rested my shin on top of his head and pulled him towards me more. He looked up at me and smiled.
"Well, she's happy."
"Mine too," I said and Ashton grinned. I stared into his pretty eyes and he giggled.
"Stop staring at me."
"No," I challenged and his smiled faltered.
"Why not? Do I have something on my face-?" He started to get up, but I grabbed him and pulled his lips to mine. He stopped and pushed me away. I stared at him, confused. "Are you just doing this because you feel bad for me?" he asked, searching my eyes.
"Ash, no-" I placed a hand on his cheek.
Ashton pushed me away.
"No. Don't...don't touch me!" he yelled and tried to crawl out of the bunk. I reached for him, but he ran out of the bunk area. I crawled out of the bunk and followed him. He grabbed his shoes and slipped them on. I reached for him again. "No!" he yelled and ran out of the tour bus. I grabbed my jacket, slipping on my shoes really quickly.
"Hey, what happened?" Calum asked, looking at me with a hard look. I turned to him, worry etched in my voice.
"I don't know," I admitted before running out of the tour bus, following Ashton's silhouette. It was night, dark, and cold, and I knew Ashton would be freezing, considering he had nothing on but sweatpants and a tee shirt.
He wouldn't stop running, and it was frustrating me.
"Ashton! Hey, wait up!" I called and kept running after him. "Ashton!" I called and he continued running. I picked up my pace and followed him, watching as he ran to a park and into the clutter of trees. We came to an opening and he collapsed, falling to his knees. I could already hear his sobs. I fell down beside hm, staring at him worriedly. "Ashton?" I asked and he looked at me, tears shining as they fell down his cheeks. "Hey, baby, come here," I said and pulled him against my chest, feeling his cold arms wrap around me inside my jacket. He was cold, so I pulled him closer. "Sh, hey, it's okay, I'm here."
He sobbed into my chest and I let him, rubbing his back softly.
"I'll always be here, baby, okay?" I asked and he nodded against my neck. I rested my chin on top of his head and pulled him into my lap, sitting criss-cross. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" I asked and he puled away from my neck.
"Th-there's a voice in my head, Luke. It won't go away. It tells me bad things. I'm going crazy," he whispered, his voice shivering, so I pulled him closer and sighed.
"You're not going crazy, Ashton. It's perfectly fine to have a voice in your head," I assured him, rubbing his back.
"Luke, I'm cold and tired, can we go home?" he asked like a child and I nodded, before picking him up bridal style. I carried him through the town, before settling at the tour bus. I walked in and kicked off my shoes, finding out that Ashton was asleep already. I smiled and carried him to the bunk, pulling his shoes off and taking my jacket off before lying down next to him. I pulled him closer and covered both of us with the blanket, making sure that he would stay warm. He scrunched his nose up and I pulled him closer to me, opening my mouth to sing.
"The weight of a simple human emotion weighs me down, more than the tank ever did. The pain, it's determined and demanding to ache, but I'm okay. And I don't wanna let this go, I don't wanna lose control, I just wanna see the stars with you."
"How fucking cute are they?" I heard Calum whisper and I pulled Ashton closer to me.
"Pretty fucking adorable, I'll give them that."
"I need a relationship like that."
"Same..."
Ashton's P.O.V.
I felt horrible, let me say. When I woke up, my nose was stuffy and I had a bad headache. I groaned and covered my face with my hands.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked and I sniffed.
"My nose is all stuffy and my head hurts."
"Do you need some Ibuprofen?"
"That'd be nice." Luke grabbed me some Ibuprofen and water and I downed it quickly.
"Do you think you're sick?" Luke asked, looking at me worriedly.
"No. I'm just a little stuffed up and I have a headache. That's it," I assured him and he sighed.
"Are you sure? Are you cold?"
"Just a little." He pulled me to his chest and buried his face into the side of my neck.
