The first thing I did when I entered my room was head straight for the bathroom considering I hadn’t really washed in two days. It was the most amazing feeling ever. After I got out of the bath and into some silk pyjamas I properly looked around my room.
It was amazing. The walls were an ivory colour with gold swirl patterns over it. The carpet was fluffy and a gold colour and the bed was huge with gold bed sheets on. Huh, they must really like gold. There was a table next to my bed with a gold jewellery box sitting on it. I noticed to the right of me was a wardrobe filled with the most gorgeous dresses. Next to my bed was a tray on wheels filled with a bowl of soup and bread, meat and rice and ice cream and fruit. I smiled happily and dug in.
A few moments later there was a knock at my door.
“Who is it?” I asked.
“More clothes.” A man replied.
“Oh, come in.” I answered.
I went back to eating my food.
“Just put the clothes in the wardrobe.” I told him whilst not looking up.
“I didn’t bring any clothes.” He replied.
Crap. I knew that voice. I sighed and looked up at Heathcliff’s stern gaze. He looked at me like I was a naughty school girl.
“Sorry for not coming to speak to you; I’m just not in a very talkative mood.” I sighed.
“I understand that you’re going through a lot but you can’t push us away. Especially not me, I care about you and I need you to be honest with me. I just want you to be able to trust me.” Heathcliff sighed sadly.
I pulled him to sit onto the bed beside me and held his hand.
“I do trust you, with my life but I’m afraid you’d hate me if I told you the truth.” I said whilst a stray tear fell down my cheek.
Heathcliff wiped the tear away and lifted my chin to enable him to look into my eyes. I tried to look away but he kept a tight grip on my chin.
“Iris, I already know.” Heathcliff whispered.
“W-what? No, you can’t! Did Aria tell you?” I asked shocked.
“No, I can read your thoughts remember? I listened to what happened and it is not your fault Iris. You can’t blame yourself for your brother’s death.” Heathcliff told me.
