Nothing.

I closed my eyes and nothing happened. I heard a scream of torture come from the Chimera and I looked over quickly to see a group of tall men beating it up.

They looked like they were… biting it.

With a howl of anguish the Chimera finally slumped to the ground dead. I breathed a sigh of relief and rested against Lance’s chest.

“Just for one day here I would love not to be attacked by an animal that could kill me.” I said.

Lance chuckled and started to lead me away from the scene.

“Shouldn’t we thank them?” I asked.

“Not unless you want them to drink your blood.” Lance said.

“What are they?” I asked him whilst leaning closer into him as his arm gripped my waist.

            “Vampires.” He said.

I didn’t need to hear anymore. I quickly kept up with Lance as we walked away and I could sense Heathcliff and the girls following us. Something flew in front of us stopping us in our tracks. It was a tall vampire with longish black hair with a permanent smirk on his face. I gulped as I stared at the menacing vampire.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” He hissed at us.

I cowered into Lance’s side and he squeezed my waist in comfort.

“It looks like a fresh meal to me. How about you boys?” The vampire in front of us addressed the other vampires who had surrounded us.

The girls flew into my hair shaking.

“It’ll be alright girls.” I whispered to them.

If anyone had to act strong here it was me. Why was I chosen for the quest? I was the weakest person I knew. I wasn’t cut out for this sort of thing. The head vampire looked at me and smiled evilly.

“Pretty.” He commented in a voice which made my voice crawl.

I looked away and felt a something cold and hard grip my wrist and pull me away from Lance. I fell into something hard and I looked up and saw it was the head vampire. I gasped as he buried his face into my neck and took a deep breath.

“Delicious. She smells as good as she looks.” He laughed.

I struggled in his grip. “Let me go!”

“Don’t touch her you leech!” Lance yelled.

The vampire suddenly dropped me and squared up to Lance.

“Or what? What are you going to do about it?” The vampire smirked.

I got up and went to stand in front of Lance in a protective stance. The head vampire looked shocked for a moment before recovering and hiding his shock with a smirk.
