Antoinette, Rose and Amour walked me back to my room where I curled up on my bed and cried. I never realised how much I liked Lance until this moment. I felt something soft touch my cheek and I saw that Antoinette was sitting there. She smiled sympathetically at me and I sighed heavily.

            “I told you.” I stated.

“Iris, he’s just scared.” Antoinette tried to encourage me.

I shook my head. “No he’s not. Even if he was scared he could have at least just talked to me. I am so stupid! I’ll be leaving this world soon anyway so what is the point? Let’s just forget about it altogether. I have a long journey ahead of me tomorrow.”

“Actually we all do.” Rose giggled.

“You’re coming with us?” I asked excitedly.

“Yes, Queen Aria is letting us assist you through your quest if you are happy with it.” Amour explained.

“That’s so great! At least now I won’t have to deal with Lance and Heathcliff on my own.” I sighed with relief.

Amour nodded. “Now we have packed some clothes for you and ourselves and it is in a backpack downstairs ready for tomorrow.”

I nodded and smiled. I was having three great friends travelling with me. Then I realised, people would die in this war. I couldn’t let them die for me.

“I’m sorry girls, but I think it’s best if you stay here when I leave.” I said quietly.

They all looked at me shocked but quickly recovered.

“We will respect your wishes but may we ask why?” Rose asked.

I sighed. “Well, people will die in this war and I don’t want you to be part of the deaths that will happen.”

Amur started giggling and Antoinette and Rose joined in.

“What’s so funny?” I asked in confusion.

“Silly Iris! Even if you didn’t let us come with you now, we’d still be coming to the battle because we would be fighting in it.” Amour explained.

“Oh. Well if you’d be coming to the battle anyway then I don’t see a problem in you tagging along.” I smiled.

They all squealed, flew towards me and hugged my neck tightly.

            “Thank you Iris!” Rose squealed.

I laughed and smiled at them. “You’re welcome; just promise that that you’ll be careful?”

They all nodded. “We promise!”

I nodded and then they helped me out of the corset dress and I got changed into my pyjama’s ready for bed. My pyjama’s consisted of a gold, silk tank top and gold, silk short-shorts. Rose took the pins out of my hair and let it fall in curls down my back.

“I’m just going to go down to the kitchen for a glass of water.” I told them.

“We’ll get someone to go for you Iris.” Antoinette told me.
