Hey guys! Here's chapter 18! I'm so sorry I haven't been uploading as often as I have before! I've had really bad writers block and everytime I came to write I couldn't think of anything D: thankfully thanks to endless cups of tea (provided by my mother) and readin endless romantic novels and re-reading over and over Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights (God bless the Bronte sisters!).... I finally got my inspiration back and I haven't got writers block any more!! (yay!) Enjoy! :D

Song on the side is one of my favourite songs and whenever I'm feeling in a romantic mood it's the first song I put on! Listen to it! -------------->

“Welcome to the vampire’s palace.” Neart said as we approached a huge stone building. If you can picture the stereotypical vampire castle then it looks exactly like this. It looked cold and creepy.

After my little chat with Heathcliff he walked ahead of me not wanting to hear anymore until we arrived here.

“You will stay the night here as guests until my mother is back from her travels tomorrow morning. We will have a feast to celebrate tonight.” Neart said.

            “Celebrate what?” I asked him.

“Our warrior finally coming to save us.” He replied.

I rolled my eyes. “Ten minutes ago I was nothing more than a ‘pathetic human’ and now I’m the only one who can save you. How the tables have turned.” I smirked.

He smirked back. “I knew it was you all along; I was just messing with you.”

“Uh-huh, sure you did.” I said.

He laughed heartily. “You’re alright for a human.”

            “Is that a compliment?”

            “Yes. You’re not bad Iris.”

I looked at him in confusion. “I didn’t tell you my name.”

“Vampires are sort of mind readers if the thought is loud enough and when I was threatening you before, Lance’s thoughts were pretty loud; almost deafening.” Neart smirked.

I laughed and Lance scowled.

“I want you to all feel welcome so I apologise for my behaviour before. It’s sort of in our nature to kill threatening species.” Neart explained.

            “Threatening?” I asked.

We were only humans; he could have killed us in the blink of an eye.

“The Lycan. Plus, Lance has weapons.” Neart explained.

            “Ah, I see.” I nodded.

“Anyway, Kian and Caleb; show Heathcliff and Lance to their rooms.” Neart ordered two blonde haired vampires who were obviously twins even though they looked slightly different. In fact, they looked like they shouldn’t even be vampires because they have such an angelic quality to their facial features.

They nodded and walked away with Heathcliff following them. Lance however, didn’t move.

            “Lance, go.” I told him.

He looked at Neart as if he was a poisonous snake who was too close for comfort.

“I’ll be fine; I promise. I have the girls with me.” I smiled encouragingly at him.
