I walked through the forest and smiled as the sun burst in small shots through the trees.

            “Iris!” A voice yelled.

I giggled and ran quickly away from the voice. I heard footsteps getting closer and so I ran faster. I giggled harder as I could hear the person getting frustrated. I was suddenly jumped on from behind and I fell to the floor. I laughed and wriggled around so that I was lying on my back with the person restraining me to the ground. It was a man I knew. I pushed my hands through his thick, brown hair as I stared into his deep brown eyes. His ever-present frown on his face was replaced by a seductive smirk. I smiled up at him excitedly and then he leaned forward and pressed his soft lips to mine. I smiled against them as he deepened the kiss. He pulled away and smiled at me with love in his eyes. I smiled back at him and stroked his face.

“I love you girly.” Lance spoke.

I shot up from where I was lying sweating and panting. I looked around and noticed that I was in my room. The last thing I remember was fainting from Heathcliff hitting me. Wait, I had just had a dream of Lance kissing me. That isn’t even the surprising part! Any girl with eyes would be sure to dream about him! The surprising part is that… I really enjoyed it! More than I should. Lance and I hated each other and yet when he kissed me softly and told me that he loved me I had never felt happier. Now, I actually feel a little upset that I don’t have that feeling anymore. Upset and confused.

“Oh thank heavens you’re awake! How do you feel?” A voice asked from the door. I noticed Rose was just hovering there.

“Tired and confused but you know that already.” I teased. She laughed and flew into the room with Antoinette and Amour hot on her tail.

            “Where’s Lance?” I asked them.

“We made him leave. We figured that you probably wouldn’t want to wake up with him sitting there after you’d just had that dream.” Antoinette smirked mischievously.

I stared at them with my eyes wide open in horror.

“Please tell me that you didn’t tell Lance what I was dreaming about!” I gasped in desperation.

“Do you think we’re stupid? Of course we didn’t! But I must admit; it was the cutest thing I had ever seen.” Amour sighed. I could practically hear wedding bells radiating from her. I blushed and lay back down.

“You are made for each other.” Rose said.

I shook my head. “No we’re not. I live in England and he lives in a book. Even if I wanted to be with him, which I don’t, I can’t. He hates me and I hate him anyway. Sure we have our moments but that’s all they ever are; moments.”

They all looked at each other as if they knew something I didn’t and then nodded.

“Anyway, we should get you ready for the ball.” Amour said.
