The room was dark, lights off, curtains drawn, and the only light in the room was the one coming from a laptop on the coffee table. The four people surrounding it were blocking Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung from seeing what was going on. Taehyung smirked and tiptoed over quietly, peeking over some of their shoulders without alarming any of them.

"Oh god, he's done for," a low voice commented. "Nonono, don't you dare turn around, oh gosh," another younger sounding voice mumbled. There was a short silence before Taehyung screeched at all four of them, making one of them scream and fall onto the person beside him. "What the heck was that?!" He screamed, confused and frightened. Jimin laughed and swictched on the lights, walking over to the group. "Hoseok-hyung, the new kid's here," he told him, pulling him off the sofa.

The first thing Jungkook noticed about Hoseok was that he was not human. Those gills on the sides of his neck were way too real to be fake, and his hands were webbed, like a duck's feet. "Hyung, you're sweating a lot," Jimin bent over to examine Hoseok's gills, Hoseok slapping him away. "It's a horror movie, okay?" He spat, "There was a ghost in it!" A laugh came from the sofa, grabbing Jungkook's attention instantly. "You're scared of ghosts in a movie you know isn't even real," said a boy on the sofa, "but you're barely scared at all around me!"

He was a ghost. The boy who was talking to Hoseok was a ghost. His pale, see-through skin, his glassy eyes, how he was floating above the sofa rather than sitting on it, his head which was hanging limply on his neck, as if it was broken. "You don't look like that!" Hoseok stuck a tongue out at him while Taehyung headed over to the windows. "It's pretty dark in here," he said as he drew the curtains, a scream coming from the group on the sofa. "Taehyung!" Someone scolded, "Jin-hyung doesn't have his sunscreen on!" Jungkook looked at Taehyung in shock as his body morphed into stone, from the tips of his hair to his fingernails and toenails.

"I'll go get that," Jimin said as he headed over to the window and drawing the curtains back, not bothering much that his friend was frozen in stone right next to him. He turned around to look back at Jungkook who looked lost, stunned and frightened at the same time. "Oh, I forgot," Jimin said, "guys! I don't think Jungkook knows about our powers yet!" Jungkook cocked his head to the side, now even more lost. The entire room went quiet as everyone slowly assembled back on the sofa, with the exception of Taehyung, who was still cast in stone.

"Is he... going to be alright?" Jungkook asked, pointing at Taehyung. "It's alright," one of the boys said, "it wears off after a couple of minutes... usually, at least." Jimin took a seat next to Hoseok. "I think we should start off with introductions," he said, a bright smile on his face, "I'm sure you know me and Tae already. This scaredy-cat is Hoseok, he's our roommate." The ghost boy raised a hand and waved at Jungkook. "I'm Yoongi," he said, "I just joined the school about a year ago, so you and I are sorta newbies to this place." Next to Yoongi was the boy who turned Taehyung to stone. "Namjoon," he introduced himself, patting the thigh of the boy next to him, "this guy here is Seokjin-hyung, the eldest of all of us."

"So, uh..." Jimin mumbled, "where do I begin... what do you even know about this school, Kook?" Jungkook hummed in thought and crossed his arms. "I really don't know that much," he said, "my parents never told me anything about this place, so I was actually pretty scared of coming here, but now it seems like a pretty nice place." Seokjin smiled warmly. "That's good to hear," he said, "most of the new students are terrified when they come here." Namjoon pulled out something from his pocket, flashing it at Jungkook to show a Student ID with a logo at the top left corner.

"Welcome to ASY," he said welcomingly, "Academy for the Supernatural Youth." Hoseok leaned back on the sofa. "This school's a place used to hide young supernatural beings who can't live in the outside world," he explained, "long story short, supernatural powers are passed down through genes, so if you're supernatural there's a chance your parents aren't. My dad wasn't, but my mom was, so that's a higher chance of me being a siren, like my mom."
