Jungkook yawned as he leaned against the wall, staring at his phone screen in boredom. He shifted his gaze to look at Jimin and Jjangu, the smaller dog attempting to tackle Jimin to the ground. Jungkook only silently returned his gaze to his phone screen again, lazily scrolling through the apps. His head shot up when he heard a door open and saw Taehyung step into the room, fresh and clean from a shower. "Kook," Taehyung said as he sat down next to Jungkook on the bed, "what'cha doin'?"
"Absolutely nothing," he sighed, "can you guys just leave already so I can head downstairs and play games?!" Taehyung shook his head, "Seokjin-hyung's brother is still getting ready. He's nearly 100 years old, he's pretty much just as dead as Yoongi-hyung, leave him alone."
"I heard that, you know," Yoongi said, making Taehyung cackle. "Hyung!" Jungkook faced Yoongi, "Why did you and Jin-hyung say I can't go with you guys?!" Yoongi only sighed and shifted until he was right next to Jungkook, on the opposite side that Taehyung was sat at. "Wait..." Jungkook muttered under his breath and looked back at Jimin, "is it because of... them...?"
"Yeah," Yoongi nodded, "thank god he isn't coming, he can't find out about them. When he found out what happened to me, he couldn't stop crying for literal ages. Who knows what he's gonna do when he finds out about them?!"
"Alright, but that doesn't really give me a reason not to go," Jungkook said, glancing at Jimin to make sure he isn't picking up any clues on what they were discussing. "It's because you know the most about what happened to them," Yoongi explained, "by putting you in charge, you have the responsibility to tell Jimin if he does find out, or if he gets too clingy and starts begging to head there, you're the best one out of all of us to explain why."
Jungkook looked down fearfully. He was worried, he was terrified of what Jimin would do if he finds out. He didn't want Jimin to be sad, Jimin was the last person he wanted to be sad. It was just luck that they decided to go on the full moon, on the one day that Jimin can't tag along.
It was just a few seconds later that Jimin paced up to the three boys and started panting. "What is it, Chim?" Taehyung asked, "Want a drink? What do you want, water?" Jimin nodded enthusiastically before Taehyung left to fetch some water. As Taehyung headed off, Jimin climbed onto the bed and lay down next to Jungkook. Jungkook didn't know what to do and, even when he turned to Yoongi to ask what Jimin wanted, Yoongi only shrugged. So Jungkook did the most sensible thing to do when you don't know what your friends want: Totally ignore them and return to your video game. Jimin shifted so that he was now cuddled right next to Jungkook and, as he stared at the phone screen, there was only one thing on his mind. What were he, Taehyung and Yoongi talking about?
Hoseok held the door open for Seokjin and his brother to leave the house first. "Bye, Kook," he called back, "we'll be back in about an hour, 'kay?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever," Jungkook called back from the sofa where he was currently slamming his thumbs onto a game console. Hoseok simply rolled his eyes before he shut the door, not bothering to leave it open for Yoongi (he could still go through it anyway, so he didn't really care.)
"Hey, Hobi," Yoongi said when Hoseok started walking, "do you think they're actually buried in this specific area? I mean, how many cemeteries are there in Gyeonggi-do?"
"Well, cemeteries aren't exactly the most common thing to find," Hoseok answered, making sure Seokjin's brother couldn't hear him talking to what seemed like himself, "you can go check if they are here or not. They died in a crash, right? That means you should be able to see them." Yoongi only shrugged and let out a small, "Eh," when he realized that Hoseok couldn't see him. He remembered the last time he came to this cemetery, it was practically empty. Most of the people buried there were old people who died from old age, except for that one old lady. Yoongi had to admit, he was a little excited to see her again. She was a sweet old lady and he liked her attitude.
Wait, crap, didn't she say she's Seokjin's mother?
Yoongi gulped as he abandoned Hoseok to move right up to Seokjin. "Jin-hyung," he asked, "just curious, but are any of your family members buried here?" Seokjin grumbled softly and eyed his frail older brother whom he was currently helping to walk without falling over. "If you've got questions, ask Namjoon," Seokjin whispered to him through gritted teeth, eyes still fixed on his brother.
"No, this is a question specifically for you," Yoongi shook his head, "are Namjoon's parents buried there? Or what about yours? I mean, probably not your dad, but what about your, uh, your mom?"
"Not now, Yoongi," Seokjin hissed. His brows were furrowed and it was clear that he wasn't in the mood for a chat at the moment, although he was trying his best to stay calm and collected. Yoongi huffed and returned to Hoseok quietly, giving up on asking Seokjin.
"Hell yeah!" Jungkook yelled in victory, "Jiminjiminjiminjiminjimin! Look what I just did!" Jimin turned his head from the arm of the sofa to look at the TV screen. Oh, cool. He beat another one of those Crash Bandicoot levels. He only snorted in response and returned to staring into the distance.
"What?!" Jungkook huffed, "That's the hardest level in the whole game! Stormy Descent, it was removed from the first game because it was too hard! And I completed it! Aren't you proud of me?!" Jimin didn't respond, only gave him a flick of his tail. Jungkook crossed his arms and frowned at Jimin's attitude.
How rude.
Wait, what? Jungkook swore he heard those words in his head, but it sounded like it was coming from somewhere else. He looked around the room for anyone or anything that could have made that comment. The only other ones in the room were Jimin and Jjangu, and he knew very well that neither of them could speak. Maybe it was just his imagination, that someone said it just as he was thinking it.
But the voice came again. "Video game addict, terrible," tsked the voice, "oh, imagine what trouble Namjoon would be if he got addicted to video games." The voices were coming from the corridor, Jungkook thought, his head fixed in that direction. He slid off the sofa and abandoned his game and Jimin, whose head shot up at the movement.
"Hello?" Jungkook called, looking through the corridor, "Anyone there?" Jungkook's eyes darted around the corridor, warily heading through it and looking inside the rooms that he had passed. After giving up, he decided that it was probably just his imagination again. Maybe he just needed some sleep. He turned around to return to the living room when he was met with the faces of two strangers.
"Crap," muttered one of them before they both vanished into thin air, leaving Jungkook speechless and motionless. Not just because of the absence of the two strangers, but also because Jimin had left his spot on the sofa. "Jimin?!" Jungkook gasped as he rushed over and looked all over the sofa for his friend. Grunting and muttering curses under his breath, he ran around the house, searching for his friend.
Jungkook left all the rooms with closed doors alone. Jimin couldn't possibly have opened any doors with those measly paws. But in a cold winter night, nearly all the doors were shut, with the exception of the kitchen door, which was wide open and held that way with a doorstopper. Jungkook peeked in, shivering in a freezing blow of wind before finding that a hole had been blown into the glass, leaving shattered shards in the sink and on the floor. "Oh, jesus," Jungkook sighed with worry. Did Jimin jump out of the window of all places?!
