Jungkook yelped softly as he was yanked away behind a pillar by Jimin. Jimin cusped his mouth tight and peered around the pillar, moving with very slight movements. Only after a short while did Jimin finally let go of Jungkook, who sprang out of his bounds. "What even is that man doing around here so suddenly?!" Jimin huffed as he stepped away from the pillar.
Jungkook couldn't give a shit. They just spent a whole hour just looking for Yoongi, where the hell even was he? Was he even looking for them? They've walked along their regular path so many times, they even decided to split up to find him, if that works somehow.
"Come on, Kookie," Jimin said tapping the boy on his shoulder, "let's go this way." Jungkook shrugged and followed Jimin into the long corridor, looking around for anyone and anything at all. It wasn't until they reached the very center of the corridor that Jungkook stopped.
"Wait, Jimin," he said, pointing to the ceiling, "I bet he's up there." Jimin looked at the ceiling with doubt written all over his face. "Jungkook," he said, "this is the highest level of the building." Jungkook dashed to the end of the corridor, where a set of stairs were waiting for them. "That must mean he's on the roof," he said, bouncing up the stairs. Jimin's eyes lit up with hope as he sprinted to the stairs, following Jungkook.
True to his word, Jungkook and Jimin reached the roof of the school to find Yoongi stood at the very edge. "Yoongi-hyung!" Jimin cried as he bounded towards the elder, "God, Yoongi, we were all so worried! What're you doing here?!" Yoongi stayed silent, refusing to turn and look at Jimin and Jungkook.
"...Hyung?" Jungkook muttered, taking a few steps towards Yoongi, "Are you alright?" Yoongi still didn't respond, he only gazed into the trees in the distance. Jungkook tugged on Jimin's sleeve and frowned. "Maybe we should leave him alone," he whispered, "he probably wants some alone time."
"I've already had enough alone time, thank you very much," Yoongi sneered, still staring out into the forest. Jimin pulled away from Jungkook gently, coming to sit down next to Yoongi. "Hyung, do you wanna talk?" He asked, his soothing voice filled with care. "I've talked to the same therapist nearly twenty times," he said, expression blank and empty.
"Yoongi-hyung," Jungkook said, sitting down next to him as well, "please tell us what's wrong. Please, we just wanna help." Yoongi sighed and sat down onto the edge of the roof, lowering his head to look at his nearly transparent toes. "What's the point of helping me anymore?" He frowned, "I'm dead. It's game over for me. Better you guys help yourselves, since you've still got a whole life ahead of you."
"Hyung, don't be so bitter," Jimin smiled sadly, "you're still a person to all of us, you're our friend. Your happiness matters to us, so tell us, what happened?" Yoongi looked at Jimin from the corner of his eye before pulling his knees to his chest.
"I just want to be of help to some people," he sighed, "seeing Taehyung so weak just now, it made me feel like I should be of more help. Then I realized how selfish I was when I was young, I was the spoilt younger brother. I never made anyone smile, I never managed to do that, the one thing I wished I could do."
Jungkook placed a hand over Yoongi's, his hand going right through the elder's pale one. "Hyung, don't lie," he said, "I've seen those pictures of you with Jimin and Taehyung before, and even if I only knew you for a month so far, I've definitely had lots of laughs with you and the others."
"And," Jimin added, "remember last night when we kicked those gunmen's asses? We all saved an entire school last night. You helped saving the school, and you better remember it."
Yeah, he was helpful. He helped save thousands of kids last night with the help of the others, but it did make him feel proud, even if he did just provide a bit of assistance instead of participating that much.
