Jungkook was left alone in the room after a while. Hoseok and Jimin decided to head over to someone else's room, while Jungkook didn't really bother and decided to stay. "You sure, Kookie?" Jimin asked, "You don't wanna bond with the others a bit?" Jungkook shook his head. "I prefer being alone," he said, Jimin shrugging and exiting the room. "We'll be back about half an hour before dinner," Hoseok told him before shutting the door close.
Jungkook sighed and looked through his phone. He would actually much prefer to go with the others, he was just a bit shy around others, especially strangers. He knew these people wouldn't treat him badly, but it's happened so often before that being afraid of opening up to people became a part of his nature. It was probably his only fear. He was fearless when it came to things like ghosts, monsters and all that, but he was frightened when he has to talk to a bunch of people.
"Staying here, huh?" A voice beside him asked, making him nearly jump in surprise. Oh shit, Jungkook thought when he saw Yoongi next to him, reclining mid-air as if he was lying on an invisible bed. "Oh, it's you," he said calmly, tensing up a little. Yoongi looked at him from the corner of his eye. "You don't have to be so stiff," he said, "chill out. I'm not gonna kill you or anything."
"How did you-"
"Telepathy," Yoongi told him, "don't you know? Being a ghost is pretty cool, sorta like Superman, just much cooler and I can also go through walls." Jungkook chuckled a little as he put down his phone. "Why'd you come here?" He asked.
"Eh, there're lots of people in my room, and it's really noisy. Then I thought maybe you'd be here, so I dropped by to have a little chat. But I guess you're not exactly a fan of chatting, huh?" Jungkook shook his head. "Me neither, honestly," Yoongi said, "I used to be pretty talkative, but recently I started keeping to myself until I can't even talk to anyone outside this school anymore."
"Why not?" Jungkook asked, sitting up to face him. Yoongi did the same. "Because... well..." he mumbled as he repeatedly passed his hand through the side of Jungkook's bed. "The school's got this technology where everyone inside the school can communicate with me and all, but outside this place nobody can do that, well, except for necromancers like you."
"Wait so," Jungkook asked, "how'd you even get into the school if you can't communicate with people around you?" Yoongi sighed and leaned back a little, pretending to crack his knuckles. "This is a pretty long story," he said, "but it's honestly all thanks to Taehyung. Really, without the kid, I'd probably still be at home trying to get my family to acknowledge my presence. Well, the story starts from when I just died, I guess."
Where was he? Everything felt warped and blurry. He tried to stand up, finding himself in a dark room. He walked over to the window, suprised that he couldn't feel the floor below him. It was as if he was walking on air. He peeked out of the window and tried to open it, nearly freaking out when his hands went through the window instead. "What the hell...?" He muttered to himself before pushing more of himself through the window, until half of his arms were already outside.
There was a loud knock on the door. He swiveled around, standing straight up fearfully when the door swung open. The least expected person ever to come in stepped in that moment. "Taehyung..." he muttered, "Tae, what're you doing here?" Taehyung didn't bat an eyelash at his words, and simply pulled out a flashlight and shone it around the room. "Hyung," he called, "Yoongi-hyung, if you're here switch off the light." Yoongi stayed still for a moment before heading over to the flashlight and pressing the off button, his finger passing through.
"Grrh, what the hell?" He grumbled as he pressed the button repeatedly, "I demand you to switch off, for the love of fucking Christ!" And, as if it was a servant obeying his master, the flashlight switched off. "Great," Taehyung said as he got out two rods from a sling bag Yoongi didn't notice he was carrying until now. "I'm gonna ask you some questions and you answer yes or no using the dowsing rods," he explained, "move the rod on my right towards the left for a yes, and vice versa for a no." Yoongi nodded, his hands ready at the sides of the rods.
