"Mom! Mom!" Jungkook called as he and Jimin rushed down the stairs to the kitchen, where Jungkook's mother was washing the dishes, "Jimin and I are heading out for a bit! We're gonna find his dead mom and brother on the street, we'll be back by 9!"
"Yeah," she said nonchalantly, "sure, hon— wait what?!" Before she could say another word, however, Jungkook and Jimin were already grabbing their coats and rushing outside.
"Jihyun was here just now, wasn't he?" Jimin asked, shivering in the freezing winter night, "I heard you talking to him while we were heading here." Jungkook nodded and looked around, looking for any sign of the boy.
"Want me to help look?" Yoongi asked, already far ahead of the two. "It's fine, Hyung," Jungkook chuckled, "the place isn't too big, anyway. And they'd probably be hanging around at Jimin's place, we should head there.
Jimin bit his lip and looked down, his walking slowing to a stop. Jungkook and Yoongi noticed this and stopped too. Jungkook wrapped an arm around Jimin's shoulders and gave him a warm smile. "Come on," he assured, "probably isn't as bad as you think."
"Hope so," Jimin smiled as he hesitantly started following Jungkook to his old house. Jungkook and Yoongi smiled in turn as the three headed down the street.
As they made a turn at the end of the street, Jimin paused. He made sure Jungkook and Yoongi were far enough before he quietly swiveled around and took a step back in the direction of Jungkook's house. "Huh? Jimin?" Yoongi called when Jimin was about to take another step, making the younger gulp.
"U-Uh..." Jimin stuttered, his cheeks turning red as he turned to look at them with wide eyes, "I-I just need to go back to, uh, get my phone! Yeah, I left my phone there and I... uh... wanna capture this moment on there, y'know, as a memory for--"
"Jimin," Jungkook sighed, walking over, "how many years has it been since you've last been here?"
"Um... 10?"
"How long do you think it takes for people to change their minds about things?" Jungkook asked, making Jimin sigh again. "I-I don't know why I'm freaking out so much..." Jimin mumbled, "I guess I'm just not ready yet. I'm super excited, but I'm also terrified, because my dad, well, he isn't the most caring person..."
"Yeah, I can see that," Yoongi said, "your ears are showing, so you're probably really scared now, huh?" Jimin reached up to feel his ears already forming before burying his head in Jungkook's shoulder. "Can we go back, please?!" he whined, "Please, I don't wanna face him!"
"Jungkook?"
The trio looked up, Jungkook covering Jimin's ears, to see a familiar woman stood behind Jimin. "M-Mom?!" Jimin gasped before burying his head in Jungkook's shirt again, "Sorry, wrong person!" Jungkook shook his head, "No, but Jimin, you're right." Jimin looked up at her once again, taking in her appearance.
"Jungkook, is that your friend from your new school?" She asked, reaching out to tap Jimin on the shoulder. Jungkook pulled Jimin away, protecting him from her. "You're not real!" Jungkook said, stepping back, "You're dead! You and Jihyun are dead! How are you alive?!"
"That doesn't matter right now," she said, "I just want to see my son. It's been 10 excruciating years, Jungkook, I haven't seen him in ages." When she grabbed Jimin's shoulder, Jungkook slapped her away. "You're not acting like your usual self!" Jungkook said in a dark and dangerous voice, "What're you gonna do to Jimin?"
"Look, Jungkook, you're making him embarrassed in front of his own mother," she cooed when she saw Jimin's ears pressed against his head, "come on, let me take him back home to calm down." She grabbed Jimin's shoulders with both hands tightly, her nails digging into his skin through the many layers of clothing he was wearing.
"I'm not letting you take him!" Jungkook grumbled, pulling Jimin towards him, only ending up unsuccessful when she pushed him off with one hand. She wrapped a tight arm around Jimin, her hand digging into his chest, while another hand was cupped around his mouth. "Finally," she sighed, "come on, Jimin, let's get you home before people see your tail."
Jimin was whining and howling in the confines of his mothers hands as she ran down the street with him, eventually picking him up off the ground and rushing to the house. Jungkook wordlessly sprinted towards her, but it always seemed that she was just that little bit faster than him, and just as he reached the house she had slammed the front door in his face.
"Make way, bitch!" Yoongi screamed as he ran headfirst into the door, only ending up bouncing backwards. "Yoongi-hyung!" Jungkook gasped, "What the-- what is that crazy woman doing?!" Yoongi headed up to the house and pressed his hands against the walls. "That's strange," he commented, "I can't go through..." Jungkook bit his lip and immediately began to run off. "Kook?!" Yoongi called, rushing after him, "Wait up!"
Jimin shuddered when he felt something wrap around his mouth. "Remember this?" his mother said in a sweet voice that made his spine shiver, "it's your old muzzle from when you were a kid! Remember how much fun we used to have with this thing?" Jimin growled as the muzzle was fastened on, reaching behind to try and take it off with his half-hands half-paws.
"Oh, do you wanna go back to your room?" his mother asked. Jimin shook his head and grabbed the doorknob before he was being yanked by the ankle. "Oh, but think of all the memories in here!" She smiled as she dragged Jimin into a steel cage. Jimin let out a muffled howl as his tail brushed against the steel bars of the cage. Was this what she was referring to by his room?! This was so much more terrifying than his room!
She shut the cage and locked it with a steel padlock. She waved the key in front of him a little, just to show that it was steel as well. "Aw, you upset?" she pouted when she noticed that Jimin was already in his full wolf form, "Never mind then, we can chat tomorrow morning. I need to rest anyway. Goodnight!"
Jimin growled as he saw her walk off, but froze when he saw her leg. There was a dull scar on it in the shape of a bite. Perhaps a dog bite, but it looked too similar to a wolf bite. More specifically, that same wolf bite that he remembered engraving into his father's calf. Why did his mother have it, then? Why was she the one with a bite? Did he even bite her? He remembered earlier that year, when he had seen his father's legs. The one with the bite on it, it was on the exact same spot as his mother's currently. Not only that, but it was at the exact same spot too. What on earth had happened to his parents while he was gone?!
