The giant girl, apparently named Ariënné, came closer to the dollhouse and stared through the windows of it at Tyler and the girl that was caught with him. ‘We’re gonna have so much fun together.’ Ariënné said. ‘And you have everything in there you need. A bed, a little toilet, a shower and bath, a table, chairs. Everything works. Isn’t it the coolest dollhouse?’ Tyler took a look around. It really seemed like a normal house to him. They were standing in a hallway. in front of them was a big double door. Probably the front door. Behind them was a majestic stairway that split into two stairs going in opposite ways after reaching the wall across the hall. A luxurious chandelier hang from the ceiling. Ariënné kept on staring at them. Tyler didn’t really know how to act and the girl had crawled into a corner, sobbing. Luckily it didn’t take long before Ariënné got bored and started playing with a tea set on the floor, pouring her teddy bear some tea.
‘Time to sleep, little princess!’ the giant man called the giant girl after what seemed like days, but was only little over an hour. His voice sounded through the room as if he was in it with them. ‘Come brush your teeth!’ With loud thumping, shaking the entire dollhouse, she ran out of the room yelling: ‘Coming, daddy!’
Tyler crawled to the frightened girl, who was laying in the corner, curled up into a little ball. ‘Finally some peace and quiet.’ Tyler sighed, sitting with his back against the wall. He patted the girl on the back, ever so softly. ‘Don’t worry.’ he said reassuringly. ‘I’ll get us out of here. But until I find out how, we’re probably best off by playing the role of obedient pet.’ The girl burst into tears. ‘I want to go home! I don’t want to die yet!’
‘Calm down, we’re not going to die.’ Tyler said, startled by the sudden outburst. ‘I promise you, I won’t let you die.’ His soothing voice and the determined look in his hazel green eyes made the girl stop crying, but she kept on sobbing. ‘I’ll get us out of here safely.’ he said more to himself then to her. ‘By the way,’ he said when realisation hit him. ‘I don’t know your name yet. I’m Tyler.’ The girl seemed to relax a little. ‘I’m Gennaio, but you can call me Genna.’
Tyler got up. ‘Okay Genna, I’m gonna look for a way out.’ It seemed unlikely, but just to be sure Tyler decided to check the possibility of escaping through the front door. The big giant had told Ariënné to keep the dollhouse locked, so Tyler tried to pick the lock of the big oaken double doors with a dessert knife he had found in the kitchen, that had appeared behind the door on the right side of the big hall. It didn’t really work all that well. After looking like an idiot trying to open a door with a knife for a few minutes, Genna suddenly stood next to him holding a key.
‘Ah, that will work so much better.’ Tyler remarked. He put the key in the lock and turned it around. A soft ‘click’ and Tyler opened the big double doors. He wanted to escape immediately, but found that to be impossible. The floor was about 50 meters below them, as the house was placed in the middle of the room on a small table.
‘Okay, this could work if we could fly.’ Tyler mumbled.
‘I can fly.’ Genna said. ‘Well, it’s more soaring than actually flying.’‘Really?’ Tyler exclaimed.
‘Yeah, you know those squirrels who can soar because of the skin between their arms and legs?’ Tyler nodded. ‘I can do that too, make my skin stretch to be like that. I’m a rubbery person.’
‘That’s awesome!’ Tyler said really excited.
‘You think so? Most people think it looks really gross.’ Genna said softly, hiding her blushing cheeks behind her hair.
‘Yes, I really think so.’ Tyler closed the doors again. ‘Let’s wait till dark before we escape.’
‘Why can’t we go now?’ Genna asked, panic showing in her eyes.
‘If the girl comes back and notices we’re gone, the others will start looking for us, shaking the entire place and making it harder for us to escape.’
Genna nodded.
‘How about we go sit down somewhere and I’ll tell you what I’ve thought of so far.’ Tyler suggested. ‘I have a few questions for you too.’
Again Genna nodded and without hesitation she walked through the door on the opposite side of where the kitchen door was.
Tyler followed entering a luxuriously decorated lounge. A big corner sofa was placed in the furthest corner of the room, with an enormous flat screen adjusted to the wall on the other side. Genna let herself fall on the comfortable looking sofa.
‘If I was in a cartoon right now, I swear you would be able to see question marks floating over my head and increasing in number every minute or so.’ Tyler said, taking place next to Genna.
‘So without beating around the bush and all, here is my first question: what is this house to you? How do you know your way around here so well?’
