Genna took a deep breath. ‘Okay, before I tell you who I am, I’ll tell you about this world. I get the idea you’re not from here.’ Tyler nodded. ‘A long time ago this world was inhabited by only giants. They were with many and lived in peace with each other. Unlike what most would think, they don’t eat humans. In fact, they are humans themself, just a bigger version. We are like rare animals to them, as you could have figured by now.’ Again Tyler nodded. ‘About 300 years ago, an entrance was found to this world by a monster named Yaraiya. He was an investigator of the Monster World. Intrigued with what he found, he decided to study the giants. The giants back then were amazed by him and agreed to let him study their way of living on the condition that they could study his way of living and that of his species. So Yaraiya and a few of his relatives and friends build a camp in this world. After years of study the camp had grown out to a little village. The people forgot why they had come here and lived their daily lives happily, in harmony with the giants. The village grew and soon more villages were built and our population grew steadily, while that of the giants became less and less. You see, giants usually only have one child. This giant having two children is exceptional. When Yaraiya passed away, the giants slowly forgot about why we came here as most of our people had already forgotten. We built out to larger, wealthy cities, building houses, making shops, living our daily lives as we had in the monster world. Mayors were appointed to the villages and cities, to keep everything going smooth. A few days ago, a giant appeared in our village. Everybody was able to flee. We hadn’t seen a giant in decades. The giant took the mayor’s house and left the city alone. The only one who hadn’t been able to flee the building before it was taken, was the only daughter of the mayor. Me. I was able to get out before he reach his house, but was noticed by him. They had been out looking for me everyday. I hadn’t slept, I just wanted to get back to the city, to my family and friends. I was so tired that I decided to close my eyes for a little while. I had noticed they wouldn’t be out during the night. When I woke up I was in that jar. I had slept longer than I had planned.’ Genna stopped her explanation and looked at Tyler, who was sitting next to her with a look on his face like he was in deep thought. ‘That’s quite a story.’ he said. Genna sighed. ‘Yep, it is.’ ‘
‘So basically, the reason you know your way around this house, is because it’s yours?’
Genna nodded.
‘Okay, then I need you to tell me one thing.’ Tyler said looking at her deadserious.‘What is it?’
‘Where can I find the restroom? I’ve been needing to go for quite a while now.’
‘What?’ Genna said astonished, her eyes wide from surprise.
‘The restroom. The toilet. The little men’s room. The loo.’ Tyler started to sum it up.
‘I know what you mean.’ Genna said, a little annoyed. She pointed at the door next to the flatscreen. It was a different door they had entered the room through, but in the same wall.
‘Go through that door, there is the dining room. In the opposite wall there will be two doors. The left one leads to the kitchen, the right one leads to a little hallway. The first door on the right in that hallway is the toilet.’ Genna explained and Tyler ran off as fast as he possibly could. It didn’t take him long to return to the sitting area, but Genna wasn’t there anymore.
‘Genna?’ Tyler yelled, but no answer came. He walked back into the dining room. He was in such a rush before that he hadn’t paid any attention to the decoration of the room. The walls were painted in a warm beige/brown color. The large table in the middle of the room had enough chairs to sit six people at. A big cupboard was placed against the wall and filled with expensive looking china. Through the window at the end of the table, Tyler could see what seemed to be the only window in Ariënné’s room. A tree blocked half of the view, but for Tyler, that only meant an easier way to escape. It seemed close enough to the window to climb down from. The only problem left to solve was how to open the window. Tyler really needed to find Genna so they could go over the plan he had so far. He opened the door to the kitchen. Tyler sighed. ‘If Kyiana or Caera saw this kitchen they would probably not want to leave.’ he said to himself. He knew his two friends loved to cook and especially bake, which would go perfectly with the large oven he saw in front of him. Though he was still angry with Caera for the entire incident on the roof, he still wanted to be friends with her. It was just very difficult to do that. They couldn’t exactly pick up where they left off. Too much had happened. He did realise that it wasn’t her fault, that she had been possessed. Still he couldn’t bring himself to go to her and talk as happily as they had before.
Tyler left the kitchen through the only other door there and found himself standing back in the hall where they had been put by Ariënné. Going in circles wasn’t going to get him anywhere so he went up the stairs. There he found a hall as big as the one downstairs. A window was placed in front of him, instead of a wall. ‘Genna?’ he yelled again. ‘Yeah, wait a sec, I’ll be right there.’ he heard her answer him. The sound was very distant though. Rather than waiting as she had told him, Tyler opened the door to the left and was standing in a dark hallway. The little window on his left was hardly enough to light the place. Opposite of the door he came through was another door. When he opened it, he saw a nice bedroom with a queen sized bed, a nightstand and a big armoire. But no Genna, so he closed the door. The next door was also a bedroom, but it had a king sized bed, two nightstands and a bigger armoire. Again, no Genna. Tyler moved on to the next door. He opened it and was met by a toiletpaper roll right into his face. ‘OUT!’ Genna screamed. ‘I told you, I’ll be right there.
