ELYSANDRA'S POV:
I'm almost ready for the group date when my phone rings. It's Justin, no surprise there.
"Baby girl, we're outside!" He yelled excitedly. I smile to myself. Ugh, he's so cute and funny and adorable, I can't take it.
"I'll be right down, baby boy!" I yell back in the same tone, giggling. He laughs that adorable laugh. I blush to myself, and I can tell he's blushing. I pull my favorite sweater over my head and slip my ankle boots on, walking out the door holding my phone to my face with my shoulder.
"Hurry your cute ass up, then," he says, laughing. I hear Ryan's voice in the background hating. I roll my eyes as I walk outside to see Ryan's van parked in an illegal spot. No surprise. I slide the back door open. Ryan and Selena are sitting in the front row, Za and Atifa in the middle row, and Justin in the very back. I join him quickly. Once Ryan pulls away, he kisses me square on the lips. I almost go lightheaded from happiness.
"Hi," I say breathlessly, when I finally pull away.
"Hi," he says, nodding, before going in to kiss me again. I don't know how long we've been kissing before Ryan interrupts but he does.
"So I've gotta ask, J," Ryan yells from the drivers seat. Justin pulls away, awaiting Ryan's question. "How much do y'all spend on condoms?" Ryan asks.
"Ryan!" Selena yells next to him, slapping his arm. Ryan laughs, still awaiting an answer.
"We don't," Justin answers, unbothered. "I pull out," Justin states when I come to a very scary realization. I lean over to share it with him.
"You didn't last night," I whisper. Justin's face goes ghost white, his jaw drops and his eyes widen. He knows I'm right and he's just as afraid as I am. I bite my lip, awaiting his response.
"Damn, Ely, you must really trust that motherfucker," Ryan says in disbelief, shaking his head.
"I do," I say quietly. Justin looks over at me with a look I can only describe as guilt. I want him to know that I don't blame him, so I grab his hand, squeezing it.
"And you should. You're always Justin's first priority, I can tell you that," Za comments. Atifa looks at Za proudly. Za winks at her. They're so cute.
"You are," Justin says, looking in my eyes deeply. I manage a small smile to let him know that I believe him. He holds me tightly for the rest of the ride. We don't speak much. We just hold each other, letting the others carry the conversation. My mind is racing. I hope I'm just being paranoid, but I'm truly afraid. I'm not ready. I just started college; I can't have a baby. I can't be pregnant. Oh my god, how did I let this happen. Once we pull up to the pumpkin patch, we split up to go our separate ways. Justin begins speaking quickly as soon as we are out of earshot.
"Okay, so I know that you're probably not... you know, but if you are, I want you to know that the whole thing I said about you being open with me and me supporting you still stands. Whatever you wanna do, I'm here. I'll help, I'll be there. You don't even have to worry, you just do what feels right for you okay?" He blurts out, frantically. My heart melts. He's so sweet and caring. I'm so lucky to have him.
"Thank you, baby," I say, grateful. "But we don't even know if I am... you know," I continue. "And even if I am, there's nothing we can do about it right now. So let's just enjoy today, okay?"
"Oh today is going to be fucking awesome," he sings, beautifully, picking me up easily and swinging me around. I giggle like a child. He makes me feel like one, without a care in the world. We search the patch until I spot the perfect one, large and round. It's expensive though, so I don't say anything. I sneak glances at it when he's not looking, though. Apparently I wasn't sneaky enough because he asks, "Oh, is that the one?"
"I mean, she's the most beautiful one here... but she's also the most expensive and I -" I explain, as he shakes his head smiling.
"Will you let me be a good boyfriend and buy my girlfriend the pumpkin that she wants?" he asks smiling. I blush happily while he lifts the heavy pumpkin into our wheelbarrow. He looks so strong and handsome, carrying the pumpkin with ease. I'm suddenly overcome with excitement once he sits it in the barrow. I run with full force tackling him to the ground to kiss him passionately. He grabs my waist while we're making out. When I pull away, Justin asks, "You know, I've been thinking about those lips all morning?"
"Yeah?" I question happily, going back in to kiss him some more. Once things start to escalate, we get up to go purchase our pumpkin. We then wheel our pumpkin over to Ryan's van where the rest of the group is waiting for us.
"What took you two so long?" Atifa asks politely. I open my mouth to make up some excuse about the wheelbarrow not working, but Justin answers faster.
"I was making out with my woman," Justin muses, pulling me into a wet and sloppy kiss. Ryan and Za both groan. I push him off of me jokingly.
"Justin!" I blush, embarrassed. "Just for that, I am not sitting with you on the way back," I say, faux adamantly.
"Oh? Where exactly do you plan to sit, then, woman?" Justin teases. Yikes. I didn't think this far ahead.
"With me, duh," Atifa offers, linking her arm with mine. I smile at her, grateful for the save. "Za will sit in the back with you," she says matter of factly.
"Nice one, J," Za rolls his eyes. Justin just looks at me in disbelief, while I look back with smugness plain on my face. Ha ha, Justin.
