{34} I Know

3rd Person POV

A couple of nights later:

Kyra gets a call from Derek as she was doing homework, she accepts the call

Putting the phone by her ear, Kyra says, "Hey, Derek. Why'd you call?"

"I want to ask you something and I want you to be completely honest." Derek responded

"Okay?" Kyra said in a questioned matter

Derek asked, "If I wanted to date someone else, what you'd say?"

"Depends on who it is." Kyra said then asked, "That someone else is Paige, isn't it?"

Derek said, "Yeah, it's Paige ."

Kyra wiped the tears falling down her face as she said, "If it's Paige, I'd say go for it. You deserve that much. She's lucky to have you."

"You deserve that much too. You're perfect, Kyra, just the way you are." Derek said to her

Kyra said, "I know I am. You, on the other hand, you're not entirely bad."

"I'm not entirely bad?" Derek asked

"No actually, you're just terrible human being." Kyra responded making Derek laugh

Derek replied, "That's not always true."

Kyra laughed then Derek said, "I love you."

"You don't love me. You love Paige. There's a difference." Kyra said

Derek replied, "Who said anything about Paige when I said I love you?"

"Still, you don't love me the way you love her." Kyra said then continued, "Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

"I love you, I really do." Derek said then Kyra said, "You don't. Don't say things that you don't mean."

"I really do, so much." Derek said back

"I know." Kyra said with tears falling down onto her paper

Kyra said without sniffling, "Hey, just don't hurt her, okay? Both of you are my friends. I don't want to be in the middle if you guys are fighting."

"Why would I want to fight with an angel?" Derek asked then Kyra rolled her eyes saying, " You fight with me every day."

Derek laughed then said, "We're good, right?"

"Yea, as long as we're still best friends." Kyra said then Derek said, "Till we die."

"Till we die." Kyra replied then continued, "Remember that distillery, we used to go to. The one outside of Beacon Hills?"

"Yea, what about it?" Derek asked back

Kyra recommends, "Bring Paige there. Make it, your alone time with her."

"Sounds romantic. That's a good idea, Kyra." Derek said then continued, "I have no idea what I would do without you."

"Yea, I know." Kyra said, "Take care."

Derek responded, "Take care."

Kyra ended the call then looked at what she was wearing: pajamas

She thought to herself, "No I should just leave them alone. What if he needs help? What if something happens?"

"Oh, screw it." Kyra said to herself then changed into a different set of clothes
