Lexie’s POV:
I started reading the note in Sam’s familiar handwriting:
Dear Lexie and Kian (and Connor if he ever comes back),
Well hey guys. You may or may not have noticed something out of place. But before you go check, please take the time to read this. Lately Lexie and Kian… you too have been hanging out a lot. For no good reason. Lexie, you’re trying to find a dent in a perfectly good apple. And I can tell you that the apple is Kian and he doesn’t need your drugs and liquor and smokes. That’s for you to coop with, not him. He never wanted to do that stuff, he just wanted to seem like he’s worth something. And just hanging out with you for a day, he’d tell me he already felt cool. Without the drugs. Please Lexie, don’t change him, I promise it will make you feel much better about yourself if you don’t. Do it for me. I love you Lexie, I do and I have more to tell you at the end of this letter… my reasons, my reasoning as to why. Kian… Kian what can I say about you, my best friend of 10 years? I’m honestly so thankfull you and Lexie fell asleep for that long, otherwise I wouldn’t have the time to do this. But Kian, you are my best friend. The best guy I have ever met, a good hearted friendly goofy guy that I was lucky enough to call my best friend, I just hope you feel the same. Please Kian, do not let Lexie get to you, it’s no good for you. I love you Kian Lawley, my best friend of 10 years and the brother I wish I could’ve called my best man. Connor… Connor you are another one of my best guy friends. I love you as a brother and I wish you didn’t leave. You have always been that funny crazy loveably guy I call my friend, one of the best, and thank you for that, so please I hope you stay for good.
And now time for why. My reasons are what happened today. First of all Kian an Lexie, you had no right to pull a prank, a joke, a lie on Connor and I. And Connor, you were Lexie’s rock. And you should have never run away. Kian, you should have never asked Lexie to change you. Lexie, Lexie, Lexie Rose Franta, please fix yourself. Check yourself please, for me? You can’t drink like that, you can’t smoke that much, you can not get high like that. Please stop, and prevent Kian and Connor from doing it, I know you’re capable of it, and for that… I’m counting on you. And now Lexie, you getting high this afternoon…
Lexie, the drinking you did today, the smoking, the injecting, you getting high… It made me realize that you can’t stop. You just can’t, and I’m not mad at you for that, because I know it’s just you and you can’t stop it. But Lexie, the events that happened to me today, to us all… made me realize that I can’t see it getting any better. I just can’t see Kian going back ot his old goofy self. I can’t even begin to imagine Connor ever coming back after what you to did to him. He’s good on his own, he may just come back to read this and them pack his things and go back away… you may never see him again. And I can’t see you turning into the little girl that hugged her dad goodnight and kissed her mom’s cheek before bed. I can’t, you and Kian can get high every night and go to parties and get into bad stuff, just like the old you. It’s like Connor told you, be aware of your past, because you can always turn into that monster again. So Connor secretive with your middle name Franta, Kian Robert Lawley and Lexie Rose Franta, I love you all and hope you listen to me and don’t fall back to bad habits. But even if you do, I’ll still love you forever.
Sincerely,
Samuel John Pottorff
