~Territory~
I smiled gratefully at the waitress as she handed me my black coffee with extra sugar. Taking a sip, I sighed happily. I grabbed my bag, which was filled with all my essentials, gave the waitress another smile, and walked out of the small diner. It felt good to be free. My attire consisted of black shorts, a swing tank top, and combat boots. My brunette hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The run-down motel which I was staying at was two blocks away from the diner.
"That felt good," purred Snow. Snow was my inner wolf. She was a pure white wolf as well as one of the rarest wolves ever born. Which meant she was also one of the most hunted; "I just wish we had some food to go with it, Lexi".
I sighed for the second time this morning. Snow had been complaining from the moment we left our pack, The Crescent Moon. It's been three months since we last saw them: My father, the alpha of our pack, and my little sister Lilly. My mother passed away after an alpha mistakenly attacked our pack. Since that day, I have always hoped that I wouldn't be mated with an alpha, but then again, fate can really screw you over.
I walked into the motel and grinned at the receptionist. She looked around 50 and reeked of wolf. She smiled back. It was all obviously an act. She probably called her pack leader and told them that a rogue was here. I walked into my motel room, and what stood in front of me was basically the best it got. In the corner was a makeshift bed with a thin quilt over it, and in front was a TV. Not a flat screen though, it was only a box TV. The next room contained a bathtub with running hot water, a sink, and a mirror. I shut the blinds and sat on the end of the mattress. Sighing, I dropped my head in my hands.
"What's wrong?" Snow asked worryingly. She was getting worried. Sprit wolves can either match your emotions, or do the complete opposite.
"The pack who owns this territory knows we are here," I said to her.
"I thought I felt something when we walked past the receptionist," Snow replied.
"I think she was waiting to see when we were going to leave, before she did something rash."
"Oh. So where do we go? What do we do?" Snow asked with a questioning tone. That was a hard question to answer. We have been to numerous towns since we've been on the run. We haven't stayed in a town longer than around three days. Just enough time to sleep, fill up our stomach and shift. Snow was getting restless; she wanted to go for a run. I wanted that as well, but the circumstances were too risky.
"We could go up north into Parkville. It's only like a thirty minute walk. We should be fine." I suggested. "Once we reach there, if there isn't a pack willing to kill us and take us in, we might be able to settle down there." Snow yipped with happiness. She hated it when we moved from town to town. It was getting hard on her as well as on me.
"Can we go for a run?" she asked hopefully. I sighed. It would only be around an hour or so till the alpha came knocking on my door telling me to get the f*** out of his town. I pulled my backpack from my shoulders and placed it to the side of the bed, next to the duffel bag filled with all my clothes. I bent down, opened it up, took out the heap of clothing, and then placed it next to me on the bed. On the bottom of the bag laid my phone. I picked it up and wiped the dust of the screen. I pressed the power button and was surprised when it turned on. I was even more surprised when I had received more than a dozen messages. Most of them were from my pack. I don't even know whether to call them that anymore. I was asked for and demanded to come home immediately. I scoffed and scrolled though the rest of them. I stopped when I saw a text from my best friend Amy.
