Chapter 22: Allies

Lexi POV

We lifted our noses into the air trying to find a scent. Nothing. There was nothing in the air expect our own scents. We had been at this for more than an hour. We, being myself, Jay, Aaron, Aiden, Cassie, Steve, Richard and other members of the pack who volunteered with the search. Our wolves being tired and exhausted, all we waiting was rest. Jay kept going. His nose in the air, desperately wanting to find Rose. His claw digging up eve His claw digging up every possible place where she could have been taken, but nothing. It looked like an excited puppy was trying to find a bone.

"Baby, we need to stop, our wolves are exhausted. " I said going up to him as he stood looking at the same set of trees in every direction. Our mind link bond strong enough that I could feel that he was tired and exhausted.

"NO. We need to keep going, I need to find her. I have to find her" he said, his voice itchy and dry.

"And we will, as soon as everyone has a hot meal which I know your step mother is in the kitchen making now and some earned rest". Nuzzling his neck with my nose, a sign of affection, I knew he needed. His wolf let out a deep growl and started to walk back. I followed in suit as did the others relieved. As we soon approached the pack house, I noticed several different scents coming from inside the pack house. We all shifted back into our human form and walked into the house with the smell of pot roast engulfing our noses. In the living room, the kids were eating with their friend, watching tv as the parents watched on. The rest of us walked into the kitchen, waiting to be served a good warm meal, stopping in our tracks when we noticed a few guests hanging around the kitchen. Macy looked up from the pot and came towards us. She held her palm up as a sign that she was going to explain the situation that was happening right before our very eyes

"Okay, before you both blow a gasket, the hunters were waiting for you to get here and it's a cold night and because I made extra, I decided to be nice and give them some."

"Why are they waiting for me?" Jay asked as he picked up the large spoon and serve a spoonful to the young girl who was waiting for some. He then took my bowl and served me some, gave it back to me and then served himself.

"They are waiting for you and Lexi, because one of their own was taken" Macy said as she returned back behind the counter and re starting serving people. Macy picked up two bowl, placed pot roast in it and then put it aside. She then dropped the spoon and pointed to the Jay's office. "In there is Tyler second and third in command. Give these to them so they can eat while you guys discuss how you are going to get Rose and Tyler back"

I handed one bowl to Jay and followed him into his office. The two men stood up abruptly and took the bowls and then sat back down. I sat on top of Jay as we started eating our food. Once we were all done, we sat there for a few minutes in an awkward silence, not sure what to say or who should start.

"So what do you guys need?" Jay asked after clearing his throat to get the conversation started. The two men stood up, but sat down when Jay waved his hands, informing them that no formality should be used.

"We want to help you, obviously. We want to help you find your sister and our leader, because right now we are a big mess" the first man said.

"Samuel, I understand that you want to help us but to be honest, you would get in the way" Jay said. I whipped my head at him and looked at him disgusted. He looked at me and mouthed 'what'. I shook my head and got of his lap. I walked to the front of the table and faced the two men.

"Samuel and "I asked, not remembering his name at all

"Jackson" the other man offered

"Samuel and Jackson, I am deeply sorry about my mate's actions before. His doesn't seem to grasp the nature of having help. In fact, we could use your resource and mind. As far as I am concerned, you think differently and that can help us find them" Before Jay could interrupted " I know how much they meant to each other and maybe we could allies in the future. You never know what the future can hold"

I watched as Samuel stood up and took something out of his pocket. He handed it too. I slowly opened it up and gasped. Jay walked over and looked behind my shoulder and groaned in frustration.

'We have your precious leader with his mate. You will also receive another note tomorrow. Decide what you do with the note will decide on their fate"

We both looked at them. Jackson then took something out of his pocket and handed it to Jay.

"The moonlight power is last of its kind

Before you know it, it will all be gone

Time is essence and the white wolfs power will be key

To either restore or destroy the supernatural world as we know it"

I went behind the study table and took out the note that we received.

"Darkness is coming and will never fade away

Little Lexi should know this

You never know when something could just whisk away and take her

As it did with your sister

Bring her to me and all we be revealed

Don't and you will regret it for the rest of your life"

Samuel and Jackson looked at each other and handed the note back to me.

"What do we do?" Samuel asked us. Jackson sad something before I could even open my mouth "We could always hand her in and be done with this stuff."

Jay's teeth lengthen in size as he wrapped his arm around my waist "First of all, we are not letting my mate near whoever that is and second of all if I hear either one of you think like that again, it will be you who'll be regretting it for the rest of their life"

I touched his arm and gently squeezed it. He let go and sat back down on the chair. I walked behind him and hugged his neck. I kissed his forehead and sat down on his lap.

"We need to find a scent, a piece of clothing. Something. Rose and Tyler aren't stupid enough to get kidnapped and not leave something behind" I said relaxing my back against Jay's chest.

"Then tomorrow we go together as allies, find them and bring them home. Alive" Jay said.
