Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Oh how I have missed you guys over this eventful week. My mid year exams got canceled which made me happy, in a way. I've been reading Insurgent by the fabulous Veronica Roth. So far so good. It's an interesting book. This chapter isn't edited, so please excuse the grammerical and spelling mistakes. :) <3

~Two Weeks Later~

It felt as if the air in my lungs had been sucked out of my body. Richard stood in front of pack house, looking causal as ever. He had a smile on his face and you could see his defined cheekbones.

“Lexi, did you hear me? Jay’s awake.”

I nodded slowly and closed the door in his face. I closed my eyes and sighed. Leaning my back against the door, I sunk down onto my knees. I should be jumping up and for joy, so why the hell do I feel shit? Someone knocked on the door, so I got up and opened it. It was Richard standing in the same place I had left him when I closed the door in his face.

“He wants to see you, Lexi,” Richard said with a small smile. ”He has no recollection of what happened during the fight. He said it’s hazy. I don’t know if this works to your advantage or not, but he does want to see you”. I nodded numbly and said later, before I again closed the door in his face. I waited till I heard his footsteps retracting from the wooden porch before I left the door. No one was in the house besides the older pack member but they just avoided me. The younger ones were at school or somewhere. Some smiled, said hello and even bowed in respect. I was still confused in how they could do that to me after I potentially ruined the pack. I sighed again and climbed the stairs and walked into Jay’s room. My injuries healed perfectly fine, but I had a few scars. It didn’t feel right to call it mine or ours. I sat at the edge of the bed and cradled my head. I don’t know what I’m feeling or if I should be feeling anything at all. Tears start to appear, threatening to overflow and pour down, so with a quick wipe, I brushed them off with the sleeve of my shirt. I looked up and took in the room. Nothing had changed from two weeks ago. Jay’s clothes were in the closet and my bags still next to it. To my right, there were photo frames hanging on wall.  There were photos of Jay, Rose and other pack members. I walked over to my bags and kneeled towards them. Aaron and Cassie brought them over to me when I got released from hospital, a week ago. I still haven’t unpacked them. It felt as if I was intruding on his space and life. I opened the first duffle bag and pulled out my phone. I switched it back on and was bombarded with text messages and missed calls. Amy’s name flashed onto the screen half a dozen times. I scanned them, hoping nothing was wrong. The last message she had sent me, kicked my fears into overdrive.

I’m sorry

I haven’t checked my phone in weeks. I quickly typed a text back, hoping she was there

What do you mean you’re sorry?

She didn’t reply, so I send another text

What is going on Amy?

I waited a few minutes, sitting on the wooden floor. Just as I placed the phone on the ground next to me, the screen lit up.

Call me.

I looked at the screen. We would never call each other, in case the pack could trace our call. Sighing, I decided to call her. A few rings went by and someone picked up the phone.

“Amy?” I said in a hushed tone

“Hello, daughter.”

My whole body stiffens. Ice flowed through my vein. My muscles tensed but wouldn’t relax. I felt the blood rush to my head and I suddenly felt a little light headed.
