Chapter 30: First Date

Chapter 30:

It's been a week since Hannah was killed and the pack is slowly returning back to normal. They are picking up the pieces and grieving over the ones that they lost. Since Jay was in hospital, I have been in charge of pack temporarily. I stood in the hospital foyer waiting for Jay to return so we could leave. The door opened and I nearly fell over laughing. Jay came out of the room with his arms crossed, a pout on his face and in a wheelchair. I walked up to the nurse who was pushing it and thanked her. I took the handles and pushed him towards the exit.

"What's with the big pout baby?" I said once we exited the sliding door. Jay stood up and walked around on the bark and soil, stretching his legs. A nurse came out and took the wheelchair.

"They wouldn't let me leave without being on the wheelchair" I walked up to him and cupped his face. I placed a soft kiss on his lips.

"Well yeah. Isn't it like a hospital rule or something" I looked at him, a small grin forming on his face "did you think that you could get away with it?"

"Well I mean. I'm the alpha. I should at least get an option on which way I should exit my own hospital"

"To them, you’re just another patient, but to me, you’re the man that I love. Ever so dearly"

"I love you too, kitten" another grin came on his face. He was planning something.

"What's going on in that wonderful mind of yours?" I asked taking a step towards him and wrapping my arms around his waist.

"I'm just thinking"

"Well don't think too hard. I don't that brain to combust, now do I?" I felt his body vibrate with laughter. I hugged him tighter and smiled softly when he kissed my forehead. "You remember what I said when we found out that my sister and Tyler were missing, how we went and looked for them?" I nodded slowly, getting my brain to think about that day. Getting the report that they were missing. Trying to find them in the forest. Coming across there date night. Me complaining that we haven't done anything like this. Him saying that we will once this is over. He's taking me out on a date!

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise" he said as he kissed my nose and untangled him from me.

"What time are you going to pick me up?”

"Let say around 7 ish?"

The floor was covered in clothes as I kept throwing clothes over my shoulder.

"Watch it!" Rose yelled as I turned around, covering my mouth with my fist. My yellow sundress was half covering her face. She threw the dress onto the bed and stood up. She came up beside me and started pulling various clothes out of the hanger. She threw them at me and ushered me into the bathroom.

"I'll go clean all this up" she said as I closed the bathroom door. Placing the clothes on the counter top, I turned the hot water on full and stepped in. After shaving, shampooing and conditioning my hair, I wrapped a towel around my body and hair. I placed the dress over my body and scanned myself in the mirror. The white lace dress flowed until it reached the top of my knees. I turned around and watched as the dress dipped till the arch of my back. Placing my white sandal wedges, I opened the door and smiled at Jay who was sitting on the foot of the bed. He stood up and oh I should have fainted right then and there. He looked so beautiful. Taking two strides towards me, I gazed at what he was wearing. An open red checked shirt with a white shirt underneath. The sleeves were rolled up his elbow, his forearm bulging under pressure. The shirt was tucked into his tailored skinny jeans. I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed a soft kiss on his lips.

Soft. Sweet. Delicate.

He let a moan out as I darted my tongue inside his mouth. He reluctantly push me away. I poured a little. He placed a kiss on forehead.

"If we kept going, we won't be leaving his room until say tomorrow afternoon"

"If it mean 24 hours with you. I don't mind at all"

"Come on we are going to be late" he said as grabbed his hand, intertwined our fingers. The pack house was empty when we reached the landing. Jay stopped at the front door and looked at me.

"You need to take your shoes off. We are going for a little walk in the forest"

Jay picked me up by sliding his arm under my knees and around my back. Holstered against body, I cuddled into his broad chest. About five minutes later we stopped. Jay placed me on my feet. He brought a handkerchief from his back pocket. He brought it in front of my eyes.

"Can I tie this around eyes?" I nodded as he placed it, covering my eyes and giving my total darkness.

"Jay?" I said, quickly. It's felt as he disappeared quickly.

"I'm here kitten" he grasped my forearm, to let me know he was there and tangled our fingers together. We began walking and Jay kept on telling me instructions. Jay placed his arms on waist, informing me that we had arrived. He untied the handkerchief. I gasped at the sight in front of me. Little light bulbs hanged from branch to branch in rows. There were about fifty plus. Underneath the lights, was a table with two candle, plates covered with a plate covers. 

"Oh wow" I looked at him. His baby blue eyes bared into mine. I placed a kiss onto his cheek. He grabbed my hands and guided me towards the table. He pushed my chair out. I slid in and gasped when Jay lifted the cover, which was hiding the food. Mac and Cheese. Jay sat down and lifted his plate cover to reveal what he had. Ribs with the side of veggie. Such a man. 

After we had finished eating, he opened another food cover, revealing strawberries and melted chocolate. He guided me to a picnic rug and sat down. Sitting in-between his leg, my head against his chest, him feeding me strawberries covered in chocolate. This is life. He placed little kisses here and there, especially after dripping chocolate over my lips. After we had demolished the strawberries, is laid in his arms. Overlooking the lake, the moon shining so closely, almost like you could touch it. Jay kissed my forehead and stood up. Grabbing onto his hands, he looked at me.

"Where do you think you're going?" I asked and he pulled me up to me feet.

"Let's dance"

"To what? We have no music"

"Who says that we need music?"  

"Umm everyone"

"Oh come on" He picked me up and faced me on my feet. He brought his hands and placed them on my waist. I placed my hands around his middle and squeezed lightly. He dropped a kiss on forehead. After a few minutes of swaying, he lifted my chin up.

"I love you, you know that?"

"I love you too."
