Hey. This is a story about a girl. This girl was very kind and smart, but she was very self conscious. I'm not exaggerating, this girl has the self confidence of a newborn baby.
Rey threw down her pencil, "Who am I kidding?"
Rey had never seriously gotten into writing. Most of the time she would trek through it for school but that ended in June and it was now August. Rey hadn't been accepted to any of the schools she had applied to and wasn't planning on going anywhere anytime soon.
The buzzing of the fluorescent lights above distracted her from the things around her, including the fact that she was the only person left in the library. Rey pulled out her phone out her pocket. 9:50.
"Shit." Rey mumbled to herself as she swept everything into her bag.
"Bye Leia!" Rey yelled as she headed to the front doors. "Bye Rey-- Oh wait sweetie, I have something for you!" Leia shouted back.
Rey stopped and mentally facepalmed herself. She walked over to Leia's office to find her shuffling through some drawers.
"I just had it he-- Ah here it is!" Leia pulled out a slip of paper and handed it to Rey. Rey took the piece of paper in her hands, "What is this?"
Leia leaned back in her seat, "It's for you. I know how you told me you always wanted to go into law enforcement, so here you go."
Rey looked down at the pamphlet in her hands. The words 'Fate Academy' displayed across the top. "Fate Academy?"
Leia nodded, "Yep. Best police academy in the state."
"Leia I can't go here."
Leia's sincere smile turned into a frown, "What, why not?"
"I-I just can't. It just looks too expensive and I probably can't even afford it."
Leia chuckled and got up out of her chair. She walked over to a shelf and shuffled through the books till she pulled out an orange envelope. "Honey, don't worry about the money issue."
Rey took the envelope in her hand and opened it. Stacks of one hundred dollar bills filled the envelope to the top. Rey gasped.
"I can't take this."
Leia sat back down in her chair, "I'm not asking you to take it, I'm making you take it."
Rey looked back down at the envelope, "Where did you get all this money?"
"Just something from my retirement. If I'm not going to use it, might as well give it to someone who will."
Rey smiled till her face hurt, "Thank you so much Leia."
"Oh you're welcome my dear." Leia pulled Rey into a hug. Leia had always been a mom to Rey, so it was common for Leia to do stuff like this.
"Now get going, you're going to miss your train. Oh! But before you go, school starts next week so turn that money in before Monday."
Rey nodded and headed out the door. "Thank you Leia!!" Rey shouted running out the doors.
Leia chuckled and went back to typing away on her keyboard.
Rey tucked the envelope into her bag while she hustled down the sidewalk. This day just got great again.

Rey jiggled her key into the door and pushed open the door. She flopped onto the couch and fished her laptop out of her bag.
"www.fateacademy.com" ENTER.
Rey searched through the home page, exploring the tabs and clubs she could join. Then her eye fell upon something that could help her.
"Just joining Fate Academy and becoming a Falcon? Join our chat and we can pair you up with one of our student body representatives!"
Rey clicked on the link below hoping she wouldn't get a virus and to her luck, it actually worked.
"Hi!"
Rey was taken aback and typed her reply.
"Hi?"
Rey waited a couple of seconds and then a reply popped up on the screen.
"I hear that you're applying to Fate Academy!"
"Yeah, I am. How do I know you're not a robot?" Rey asked suspiciously.
"I'll prove to you I'm not a robot, how about tomorrow at Koffie's?"
Rey chuckled. He could've asked if she wanted some candy first.
"How do I know that you're not a pedophile?"
"I promise you I am not a pedophile. One hundred percent."
Rey rolled her eyes, "Okay fine but don't be surprised if I have 911 already dialed on my phone, buddy."
"Alright, tomorrow at Koffie's around 12. See you there."
"See you there."
"Wait I never got your name."
"Rey name is Rey."
