Chapter 5

"Well, hello Ben." 

Ben glanced over at her smiling a little bit, "Hello Rey."

They both sat there until Ben tore his eyes away from her, "So I guess parties aren't really your thing?"

"Bingo." Rey tilted her head, shaking her hair in front of her face.

"Yeah, they aren't really my thing either." Ben scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

As the music inside seemed to get louder, the both of them sat in silence until Rey decided to speak.

"So, you know Finn?" She asked.

"Uh, yeah I do." He hesitated. She nodded slowly before speaking again, "He said you're a good friend of his dad."

"Oh, yeah we talk and he invites me over sometimes." Ben laughed in the middle of the sentence. "Oh, that's nice." Rey states.

Again the silence filled the space between them.

"So where are you from?"

Rey glances at him for a moment before answering, "Uh, I'm from London."

"Oh, yeah that explains the accent."

"Yeah, I lived there with my adoptive parents." Rey shrugged and smiled.

"Oh, my mom is adopted." 

"Yeah, it can be pretty hard sometimes." Rey ran a hand through her hair nervously.

Just as Rey thought about what to say next, a girl wearing all pink came stomping out of the door in front of the two. As the girl stomped down the hall, a guy came running out the door behind her.

Ben looked up at the guy, realizing who it was and jumped to his feet. He turned to Rey, "It was really nice to meet you but I must go. Finn has my number if you want to ask him for it and maybe we could talk?"

Rey smiled up at him, "Yeah that sounds great."

Ben nodded before running down the hall after the two while Rey watched. 

The guy had finally caught up with the girl and grabbed her forearm. She whipped her head around, tears streaming down her face. 

"NO, I REALLY HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH THAT BITCH." The girl shouted jerking her arm out of his grasp.

While the girl protested, the guy grabbed the girls face and kissed her.

They both stood there, car alarms going off in the distance while Rey watched from a far kissing each other. 

The girl was peaceful for a moment. No shouting was unleashed, it was just a peaceful silence.

Then, out of nowhere, the girl pulls away and slaps him across the face. Hard.

Rey cringed as she watched Ben comfort his friend while the girl in pink strutted away. Rey grabbed her phone and stood to her feet, brushing off her jeans.

She opened up her messages again and texted Finn.

'Hey, I'm leaving now. I have to get at least an hour of sleep in before school tomorrow.'

'Oh okay, sad to see you leave so early but I guess I'll see you tomorrow. I text you where we should meet up. :)'

'Okay, sounds great. :)'

Rey headed down the hallway towards the elevator, passing groups of people either too drunk or too high to even form a sentence. 

She pushed the button, letting the doors open and stepping inside.

Once inside the elevator, Rey rested her body against the wall letting out a long sigh. 

This had to be one of the most hectic, craziest nights she's ever had. And she loved every minuted of it.
