Luna

SOMETHING WAS ON TOP of me.  I noticed the moment I tried to turn over in my bed.  Forcing my eyes open in the bright room, the first thing I see is a head full of hair.  At first I'm sorely confused, but then I remember last night.

"Luna, just get in bed," Theo says, eyeing me standing at the end of the bedI was shifting back in forth on my feet nervously.  "I don't bite....hard."  I pout my lips.

"That's a shame."  Theo's eyes widen, and he sits up at lightning speedI'm barely able to keep my fits of giggles contained.  "I'm kidding, Theo."  I climb into bed next to him and cover myself with the comforter.

"You're so weird," he mumbles under his breath as he lays back down.

"Thank you!"  I turn over to face him, and he does the same to meHis eyes scan my face as if to study itI cover most of my face with the comforter, my eyes poking out to stare at him.

"How do you do it?"  I'm sure he's talking about being alone.

"Books."

"Books?"  He stares at me like I've lost my mind.

"Yes, books.  I can have a million adventures just by reading a paragraph in a good bookI can meet different kinds of people without stepping out of my house, and I can have all of that teen drama without being involved."  His brow quirked up incredulously making me laugh.  "I know it's not normal, but it's a lot better than sitting around and staring at wallsIt also helped build my character and personalityI know who I am even if I don't accept it."  He turns on his back to stare up at ceiling, going over in his head what I'd just said.
