"Guys, you really don't have to do this," Luna tells her friends as they drag her into the school's library. Lydia scoffs at the girl who has become one of her best friends.
Scott says, "Luna, you're a Senior, too."
"Yeah, and you were a little busy wolfing out the night we did this," Stiles adds.
Malia yells from the balcony, "So get your ass up here!"
Luna can't help the smile spreading across her lips as the excitement within her bursts out. It's been only a couple of weeks since Theo was taken by his sister, and Luna can feel the change in, not only the atmosphere around her, but inside of her. At night, she was beginning to get strange dreams, dark dreams, dreams she didn't even want to think about. Throughout the day, she could feel herself pulling away from her friends. She was surprised they were even able to get her to come tonight. But she was grateful nonetheless.
The three of them lead Luna up to where Malia was waiting near a shelf of books. Malia couldn't hide her excitement for the girl as they were finally introducing her to her class and not looking from the outside in. All of Luna's friends were happy for her. Over the last few weeks they could feel her isolating herself from them, and they were hoping this would bring her back.
"You want to do the honors?" Stiles asks Scott, handing him a permanent marker.
Scott smiles as he takes the marker from him. Lydia and Malia remove the books off the shelf to reveal all of the initials from their classmates and the ones previous. It doesn't take long for Luna to find her friends' names, mainly because Stiles couldn't wait to point out his. Scott hands her the permanent marker.
Luna takes her time to run her finger tips over their initials. When she finds the initials AA next to Scott's, her fingers stop moving. Her thoughts turn back to the Beast and his relationship with Allison's great-grandmother. It hadn't left her mind that she and Allison are distant cousins. If anything, it made her feel warm inside that she had family close by and she hadn't always been alone. Slowly, Luna uncaps the marker and the tip of it hovers above an empty space.
"Would it be weird if I wrote it next to Allison's?" Luna's soft voice questions in the quiet air. "I mean I don't think we'd ever spoken two words to each other or if she'd even acknowledged me. Well, maybe we smiled towards each other in the hall one day, but Allison smiled at everyone. She had a beautiful smile and even if the smile wasn't pointed towards you, you had to smile because it was Allison."
Luna took a deep breath and then whispered under her breath, "I should've spoke to Allison. Maybe things would've been different."
"Don't," Scott states. "Don't do that to yourself. You couldn't have known you and Allison were related. No one ever told you. I'm sure if Allison knew, she would've reached out." Scott places his hand on Luna's shoulder to comfort. The other three notice Luna's shoulders release the tension placed within them as soon as Scott put his hands on her. They share a knowing look.
Luna nods in agreement before placing the point of the marker down and creating the right angles of her initials, LL. She caps the marker and turns around to face the others. They each have bright smiles on their face after watching their best friend take a huge step forward. Scott envelops the blue-haired girl into a tight hug, unknowingly starting something between them.
But none of them knew what was to come.
Hi, guys! Sorry for the wait. I graduated from high school friday lol and then I had my graduation party yesterday so it's been a full two weeks of stress getting ready for it. But I finally finished this today and I would really like to hear your thoughts on it.
I am writing a short story in between this one and the sequel to this so be ready. I'm going to do a combination of journal entries and social media format for the short story (more journals than social media fyi). Also, I have a Bellamy Blake fanfic that's coming soon and I'm working on a cute story for "The Kissing Booth" Netflix original with the love interest being Lee Flynn so there's that.
#WATTYS2018 I've actually entered this story into the Wattys because I'm very proud of it and I know there's a few of you who love it too.
AND FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THIS STORY!!!!!!
I have a deleted scene I'll be posting before/on next Monday so be prepared. (It's in Theo's point of view btw)
I hope you enjoyed this epilogue! Please vote or comment what you think! Can't wait to see y'all on the short story!
