Luna

"SCOTT, I'M NOT LETTING you fight that thing by yourself," I declare once Scott tries to leave the rest of us behind to fight the Beast.

"Luna, I'm not giving you a choice.  You need to stay here."

"But-"

He interrupts me, "Have you even shifted once since the evolvement started?"

"No, but-"

"So we don't know what'll happen or what you'll change into if you shift, right?"

"I guess, but-"

"Then you're staying here."  Something in his voice tells me there isn't any reason to argue.  His word is final and I just had to accept it.

I scowl, "Fine."  He nods and looks around the room.

"I'll be back."  He's out the door before we can protest any further.  I begin to pace as we wait, listening to the screaming as people run for their lives.  The roaring only gets more frequent as it terrorizes the school.  A familiar roaring joins in with the Beast's and it's obvious Scott has found it.  Using my extensive hearing, I can hear Scott's groans of pain as he fights the Beast alone.  When I hear Scott's strangled cry and his body hit up against lockers, I head straight for the door.

"Scott said to stay here!" Kira yells after me, making me stop with my hand on the doorknob.

"What if what I'm evolving into can defeat the Beast?"  I glance over my shoulder at the two girls.  "What if I can stop all of this?  Scott said friends help each other and that's what I'm going to do."  I turn the knob and rush out of the room, heading straight for where the fighting is.

From down the hall, I see Scott run towards where the library is.  He's limping and I can smell the fresh blood from where I'm standing.  The Beast roars again as Scott enters the library.  My feet smack against the marble floors as I head for where the Beast is at.  I feel my claws grow from my fingernails and my canines protrude farther out of my mouth, but my bones stay where they are.  For now.

I reach the spot where I'd originally saw Scott and find that the Beast's roars are much louder here.  Up the steps, the dark and shadowy figure I saw pass the classroom door is standing there.  Deep growls resonate through the walls and my chest as it stares me down with complete glowing, white eyes.  No time is wasted as it roars down at me, but I'm not showing any weakness and I roar back at it with just as much intensity.  My eyes flash as we charge toward another.  The color seems to throw it off as I'm able to jump up and claw the side of it's face.  My next attack isn't as successful.

The Beast's long claws swipe at me and slashes right through my skin.  I scream in pain before going after it again.  My bones start to twitch from the bottom of my spine.  The anger and the pain triggering my body for a shift.  As I swing to claw it again, I notice my claws are longer and sharper.  While I'm distracted, it blocks my arm and shoves me into the wall, pinning me there as the world spins.  My head aches from impact.  The Beast roars in my face, spit drenching my cheeks, and digs it's claws across my abdomen.  When my body stops moving, it suddenly stops attacking.  As if attacking something that wasn't struggling turned it off from the whole idea.

My bones were still twitching even after the Beast took off.  I attempt to stand, using the wall as a crutch, but the entire world is spinning as my bones try to change and the pain gets stronger as I move.  Tripping over my own feet, I land on the cold, marble floor with a grunt.  I claw at the floor as my body begins to shift uncontrollably.

"Oh, no.  Not here you don't," someone says as they help me up.  They wrap one of my arms around their shoulders and lead me into someone's office.  They lean me up against a desk just as one of the bones in my back crack loudly.  "Luna, you need to stay human," the person states desperately.
