Chapter 6

Finally the end of the day came, and for me it could'nt come quick enough.
I wanted to get the hell out of there.
More than I usually do on a daily basis.
I walked, more like ran out of the doors, and slid down the railing of the stairs to the sidewalk, then looked down the street for Cody.
The second to last class I have everyday has him in it, except for the very, very last one.
And in the second to last one, he said he'd grab the car and bring it around, and to wait for him outside.

I got bored after a few minutes, so I started pacing back and forth, then behind me, I heard honking and turned to see Cody drive up with the car, and Angel was in the back.
"Hey, I'll give you 20 bucks for a blowjob", he joked as he smirked, so I smirked back and rolled my eyes as I got in the car.
"Bitch please, I charge 30", I laughed back, then we sped off towards his house.
"Anybody see Sonny?", I asked and they shook their head.
I nodded to myself, then turned and looked out the window as we got closer and closer to his house.
Once we stopped, I threw my bag out the window, then I climbed out and Angel did the same.
"Oh, I came over everyday after you left and I help Angel and Sonny piece together your bike until it was done and I did'nt let nothin happen to your precious baby", I laughed and he laughed then gave me a smirk.

"Are you as tired as I am?",I asked and he nodded."Lets just go to sleep as soon as we get in there?"
"Yep",he nodded as we walked up the porch.
"You should let me have the car, Jess",Angel tried to persuade me.
"You don't even have a license",I said
"Neither does Cody, but you let him drive it",he replied.
"Yea but at least he can reach the petals ya runt", I laughed then grabbed him and put him in another head lock as we walked inside, then my heart stopped for a second.

There on the couch, was Sonny, bleedin ALLLL to hell.

He had gashes and scratch marks everywhere and I don't even know what from, but my jaw bout hit the floor.

"What the fuck happened to you??", I said.
"They got me in the parkin lot...and you fucks ran off and left me!!",he yelled back.
My eyes fell shut and I shook my head at the floor.
"Look at this!!yea!!",he said as he opened up his jacket and showed us all the cuts and shit on his stomach and chest.
"Who did it?...The Razorheads?",Angel asked as he walked over to him.
"Fuckin Nazi security guards, turned me over to the new history teacher...the guy...the guys insane",Sonny shook his head and Cody took a swig of his beer, so I stole it and did the same then handed it back."Got any money on ya?I really need a hit man...they took everything away from me."

I sighed and sat down on the coffee table, and my neck hurt like a bitch so I hissed in pain and Cody was imedietaly alert.
"What?", he asked.
"Nothing", I shook my head at the floor.
He stared at me a few seconds longer, before he took another sip of his beer and we looked back at Sonny.
"I have'nt had any all day",Sonny shook his head."Come on, Angel, ya got any Edge on you?I'm really hurtin."
"Hey look in the kitchen, Angel, maybe there's some Drano, or floor cleanser, that'd be even more fun huh?",Cody taunted Sonny and Sonny glared at him.

Next thing I knew, all hell broke loose.
"HEY THIS IS PLENTY HANDS OF THAT!!'',Cody's mom screamed at Angel as she chase him into the living room where they started to fight over the fuckin edge.
I did'nt see it until Sonny held it up to his nose and snorted it, but Angel had successfully thrown a tube of Edge at Sonny before his mom could notice.
"No!",Angel yelled back.
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF THAT!!GIVE ME THAT!!GIVE IT TO ME!!'', she screamed."Give it to me!!"
"Mom, I need it!!",Angel argued.
I looked to Cody and I could tell he was slowly getting more and more pissed off, and I'm waiting for the moment he just blows the fuck up.

"Mom!!Please give it to me!!",Angel started crying.
"Give it to me!!",she argued back.
"LOOK WHO'S HERE MOM!!",Angel finally said, then she stopped and looked straight at Cody, and they stared at each other for a few seconds.
They didnt say anything, and it wasnt one of those "i missed you so much Im in shock" stares...no..
It was one of those "why are you even here?", stares, and I could tell it had hurt Cody alot.
Pretty soon, that was over, and her and Angel went back to fighting.
"FIND YOUR OWN DRUGS!!",she screamed.
"No!!You gotta give it to me!!",Angel screamed back."MOM!!i NEED IT PL-"


"Gee!It's good to be back home",Cody said, then his mom snatched the tube from Angel and snorted it."Your all fuckin PATHETIC!!!"
Then he took the beer bottle he was drinking out of, and threw it against the wall, shattering into a million pieces making us all flinch, then he walked outside slamming the door as Angel and his mom kept fighting.
I got up and walked outside after him, then I saw him rip the tarp off his bike and then he walked away from it and to the edge of a little lake behind his house.
He wasn't crying, he was just majorly pissed off, and I don't blame him.

I walked up behind him, then wrapped my arms around him and rested my chin on his shoulder and he sighed and immediately relaxed.
"I'm gone for 5 months....and now I get to come home to this shit?",he growled, then I rubbed his arm before I hugged him again.
"That's my family now", I heard him say, and he really did sound heartbroken.
"What about me?", I joked."I'm always gunna be there for you...no matter what..I got your back as long as you got mine."
I looked up right as he turned his head, then he smiled a little and nodded.
"You got it",he whispered.
"Come on...", I said as I pulled on his arm

We walked back into the house, and he glared at everyone as we walked upstairs and I gave Angel a sad smile as I followed him.
I walked in, then he face planted onto his bed, so I laid beside him, holding my head up with one arm as I rubbed his back.
Something I've always done when he was upset or tired, and in this case he was both.
"Are you staying tonight?",he mumbled.
I smiled then brushed some hair back away from his forehead, and then kissed it before turning over and laying down.
"I'll stay as long as you want me to", I whispered as I sighed and closed my eyes, then he turned around and threw his arm over me.

"So in the case, your never leaving", he said, then I laughed and so did he, but I stopped laughing when my back started hurting along with my stomach.
I hissed in back as I sat up and rubbed my shoulder as I hunched over the side of the bed.
"Jess, what's wrong?",Cody said as he immediately sat up as well.
"Nothin, just workin too hard at the diner, fucks up my back", I lied, then I laid back down again, only this time, flipping over towards him and sighed.
"You feel any better?", I asked and he breathed in real slow, then sighed back.
"Yea, I guess", he nodded.

It was never like this for us, when we were little.
We still had both our parents, my mom was still here...there was no Edge, no drugs, no violence...no gang violence...no gangs..we were all one...but you see how that turned to shit.
"Cody?'',I said.
"Yea?", he answered and I smiled.
"You remember when we were little, and we used to do our pinky swears to the most serious shit ever?...Or at least to us it was the most serious shit ever", I said and we both laughed.
"Yea, what about it?'', he answered and I could hear him smile, which made me smile, but I just shook my head.
"I was just remembering some stuff", I sighed.
"Jess?", he said.
"Hmm?", I hummed back not opening my eyes.

"You swear you won't ever get into Edge, or anything?",he said and I opened my eyes to look at him, then he did too, so I moved over even closer.
"I promise...I've seen what it does to you when you see Sonny or Angel doing it...I would never hurt you like that", I whispered back and brushed his hair away from his forehead again.
"You pinky swear", he said holding up his pinky, and I laughed, but took my pinky, crossed my heart with it, then kissed it and hooked it with his.
"I pinky swear", I laughed back, then someone walked into the room, and I looked over my shoulder to see it was Angel.

"Sorry Cody...we did'nt mean to make you upset", he said.
"I know you didnt kid", Cody answered him."I just don't like you doin it...Sonny neither...but you especially."
"I know...Im sorry",Angel said with his head down as he started to walk out of the room, so I flipped over really quick and grabbed the back of his shirt making Angel laugh.
"Where ya think your goin kid?'', I laughed as I pulled him back down onto the bed with us."We love ya kid, no matter what you do, ok?"
"Ok", he smiled back, then he flipped over and layed on my arm as he went to sleep, so I kissed his forehead and threw my arm over him.
"I love you, kid", I whispered.
"Love you too", he mumbled back as he drifted off.

Cody buried his face in my back of my neck as he threw his arm over the both of us, and I looked at him over my shoulder, smiled, then I turned back, and we all fell asleep.
