Chapter 18

Cody and I were currently on our way to the Blackheart hangout.
As we rolled up, I noticed how more and more of our gang was rushing up to the doors of our place, but I did'nt know why.
"GET THE ROPE OFF HIS NECK!!",I heard someone yell, and I immediately got confused and scared of what I was about to see.
A couple people moved and I caught sight of someone hanging on our doorstep with a purple jacket on, and my heart stopped.
"ANGEL!!!", I screamed then shoved someone out of the way as I ran up to the front and Cody was close behind me.
"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!!",I said and shoved some chick away from me."ANGEL!!"
I kept shoving people away from me as they held me back, then I elbowed one guy in the chest as they finally got him down, and I could'nt stop the tears from falling.

They lowered him down and laid him on the steps, then I fell to the floor, letting sobs rack my body as I crawled forward and shook him a little.
"Angel?...come on baby", I choked out as I pulled him into my lap and shook him again."Please just look at me!PLEASE!!!"
Cody was already beside me, as we both stared down at his little brother's lifeless body in our arms.
He looked like he had been stabbed a bunch of times and he had blood all over him, from head to toe.
I felt something jabbing my side, and looked down to see it was my knife I had given him hours before to protect himself stuck in his side and I lost it.
I started sobbing even harder as I held it up and looked at it, but my hands starting shaking so I threw it to the ground and it skidded away from me.

"GET A BLANKET!!SOMEBODY GET A FUCKIN BLANKET!!!",Cody yelled and then someone ran off to find one.
I pulled him to my chest and rocked back and forth as I sobbed.
That was my knife...
That was my-
These thoughts just made me cry even harder, and then Dawn started freakin out.
"SON OF A BITCH!!!GOD DAMMIT!!",she screamed as she hit the door of our hangout."CHECK IT OUT!!!CHECK IT OUT!!!"
I looked up through my cloudy vision and saw she was holding Angel's basketball, and written in Angel's blood was "War Zone-High noon."
"FUCKIN A WE'LL BE THERE!!",some guy yelled.

I took a deep breath in, as someone came back with the blanket and we draped it over him.
I kissed Angel's forehead one last time before covering his face up with the blanket, then I carefully laid him back down on the steps and rose shakily to my feet.
Walking backwards a little bit, I shook my head getting more and more pissed by the second and I could tell Cody was as well.
"I want them all!!!...ALL OF EM!!!",Cody yelled as loud as he could.
I took one last look at Angels body on the steps and more hot tears ran down my face, but the were mad tears, and I shook my head.
"JUMP ME IN!!!JUMP ME THE FUCK. IN!!", I yelled, and then Cody joined in as well.
"JUMP ME IN RIGHT FUCKIN NOW!!!",he yelled and then someone shoved me to the ground as everyone in our gang started beating up on Cody and I.

I shot up, literally screaming at the top of my lungs, and I grabbed Cody's arm.
"ANGEL!?NO ANGEL!!!",I started crying.
"Jess!Jess!Calm down it's ok",Cody said beside me as he grabbed my face and made me turn to look at him."It's o-"
"WHERE'S ANGEL!?! ANGEL!?!",I panicked as I stood up and walked to the doorframe of Codys door."ANGEL!?!"
"Hes downstairs doing his homework!!",Cody called as he ran after me when I was flying down the stairs.
I made it to the bottom and walked into the living room to see a scared and confused Angel sitting there and doing his homework.
"Oh my god, thank god", I bawled as I walked over to him.

"Mom?What's wrong?Why are you crying?",he said as he hugged me and I just shook my head, taking in a few breaths, trying to calm down.
Cody was at the end of the staircase watching everything, probably giving me a confused look.
"It's ok-everythings ok", I shook my head again as I let him go."Just get back to work, it was nothing ok?"
"Mom what's-"
"It's ok", I cut him off, then kissed the top of his head."Just get back to your homework."
"Ok", he said, then he sat down again, still looking at me confused, so I just gave him a quick smile walked back up the stairs with Cody on my heels.
It was all a nightmare.
It was all just one big, ugly, fucked up nightmare.
Thank you God.

"What was that all about?",Cody said cautiously as he closed the door.
I sat on his bed again, with my head in my hands, swallowing the biggest lump in throat, and taking a shaky breath in.
"Jess?Jess, look at me, it's ok",Cody said as he knelt down infront of me and turned my face up to look at him."Just take a deep breath,everything's ok."
"Everything's ok", I mumbled and nodded to myself as I took a deep breath in, then let it out.
"Alright, you ok?",he said.
"Yea, I'm ok", I nodded.
"Alright good",he nodded back, then I looked away with tears welling up in my eyes and I broke out sobbing again."Heyyyy-"

"I just had the worst nightmare of my life", I choked out.
"Alright, well it's ok-it was just a nightmare",Cody shrugged.
"No Cody you don't understand!!", I cried, then sniffed."Angel was killed in my nightmare!!By the Razorheads...that's why I ran downstairs!!I had to-I had to make sure he-he was o-ok!"
"Well, listen, don't cry",he said and wiped under my eyes with thumb and made me look at him again."It's ok...he's ok, everyones ok, I would never let anything happen to him, and I know you would'nt niether...don't worry about those assholes-it was just a nightmare ok?"
"Uh huh", I nodded and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.
"Come on, let's go to bed, you need some sleep",he said as he got up and laid down on the bed behind me, so I sniffed again and laid down as well, sighing.

I closed my eyes, then moved closer to Cody then buried my face in his chest, and taking deep breathes to calm myself down.
"I don't know if I should tell you this or not",Cody began and i looked up at him, then he looked down at me."But the Razorheads want to have a war tomorrow."
I looked down and buried my face back into his chest, shaking my head.
"Well if they do, Angels not in it", I said.
"Oh believe me, I already told him that", he said."Don't worry everything will be ok, alright?"
"Ok", I whispered back.
"Night",he said.
"Night", I answered, and even though I was terrified to fall back asleep after what just happened, I did anyway.
