That sound again. It's a sound I have grown accustomed to.
Everything I have gone has always been for you.
I left because I love you.
I slowly open my eyes. I knew I am in the hospital again. Flashbacks of what happened came to my mind.
"After all these years" I whisper to myself.
Max and his friends were late for the wedding. Although I knew he doesn't agree to this, he promised that he would be here. Tiffany wanted to start as soon as possible. I tried to hold the ceremony for a few more minutes, but Tiffany said the guest was starting to become impatient. I didn't want a big wedding. I always dreamed of a smaller wedding with only family and friends. The only person I knew was Josh and his wife. Everyone else was all Tiffany friends and family. The press made up most of the guest list. Tiffany is known to be a show-off.
Why did you decide to come now?
For years I have been dreaming for a day I would see her again. Whether it would be in my dreams or in the afterlife. When it was time to say "I do" I couldn't say it no matter how badly I wanted to. My mouth couldn't form the words. When I saw her standing next to Max looking at me I lost it. I felt like I was dreaming and we were the only two people on the beach. For the first time in 11 years, my heart started to beat again. There was so much I wanted to say to her and so little time.
"Hello, Mr. Powers," Said the doctor walking in.
"Good to see you too Doc." I say waking up from my thoughts.
"So what is it this time?" I ask rising up from the bed to sit up.
"Nothing bad. Everything is normal, you just took in a lot of saltwater other than that you should be good to go. Just sucks it had to be on your wedding day." He stops looking at his clipboard to look at me "Hey maybe it's a sign" He says with a laugh.
"I'll go tell everyone your fine. " He says leaving the room.
"Saltwater?" I say confused.
"Kevin!" Tiffany comes busting through the door with her arms out. She runs towards me and puts her arms around me.
"Oh My God, I was so worried." She says with tears in her eyes. I roll my eyes and pats her back.
"I'm fine there is nothing to worry about." I say. Max and Alexander then come into the room.
"Hey dad" Max says. "Good to see you awake."
"Good to be awake" I say with a smile. I look over at Alexander who isn't making eye contact.
