School is starting back up next week and the guys went to the mall to get some last minute school supplies. Micky invited Gabriela to tag along which the guys and I didn't mind. Jace couldn't come because he had some family business to take care of and Jose had to work. I was in H&M looking for some new tees to wear.
"How's your dad Max?" Micky asked who was next to me looking over at racks of shirts.
"He's fine health wise." I answer.
"He still isn't talking to Jackie?" Jose asked.
"Nope. He's still being a dumb ass." I say "You know" I turn to look at the guys "It's not like she lied. She just left us. I understand he mourned for her for eleven years, but--" I shook my head and went back to looking for tees. "I just don't get him." I say.
"Just give him some time. I mean he thought she was dead. He's still in shock. I mean how would you feel if you thought the love of your life was dead and find out that they only just left you." Said Micky.
"Yeah, I know if it was me I would have liked it better if they were dead." James said. "Hey what do you guys think?" He said showing us a button up yellow and pink floral Hawaiian shirt.
"Well....It's bright" Carlos said.
"Thanks" James said taking the shirt. James style is very bright and bold. He loves to stand out and wear odd and bright colors.
"Well, I know for one if the loved of my life came back to me I would jump for joy. And forget about the past." I said. I found a short sleeve denim shirt and picked it up.
"I think you should just give them time Max. Let the grown ups figure there shit out. And you just focus on graduation. You found her and brought her back. Relax man" James said picking up another shirt. "Alright am ready to try theses on." He said making his way to the dressing room.
"I'm coming too," Carlos said.
After two hours of shopping, we decided to go the food court for lunch.
"It sucks that we can't wear this to school" Gabriela said.
"Yeah, maybe we can talk to Jace about have casual Fridays or something?" Carlos said coming up with an idea.
"That's an estupendo idea!" She replies excitedly. I smile.
"Yeah that's not bad" James says taking a sip of his soda. "I would be able to finally be able to wear comfortable clothes. I hate having to fix a tie every morning"
"I agree" Carlos said.
"So did you get your schedule yet Gabriela?" I ask.
"Yeah. I am taking AP chem., AP Lit., Spanish III, American Gov. ---"
