Today is Valentine's day and love is in the air. Alexander and Max woke up to the smell of heart shape chocolate pancakes with french toast, eggs, and bacon. Jackie wrote everyone a handwritten card expressing her love. All the men were thankful for her card. After breakfast, everyone went there separate ways to express there love with there partner.
It's Gabriella and Max's first Valentine's day and also their first date. Max took a very long time until he asked Gabriella out because he wanted to make sure they were both ready to commit to each other. With school, college applications, and Gabriella working Max wasn't so sure that they would even have to for each other. But after Gabriella dropping too many hints that if he doesn't make his move their friendship is over. Max finally asked her out.
"Wow this is amazing," Gabriella said as they entered the aquarium. For their first date, Max wanted to share what he loves with Gabriella.
"Do you come here often?" She asks as she looks around the huge fish tank.
"I haven't been here since I was ten." Max answered. Gabriella looks over at Max to see he is not smiling. She thinks that maybe he is thinking of a bad memory. Gabriella reaches for Max's hand causing him to look down at her confused. "What's this fish called?" She asked pointing at a purple fish.
"Oh, that's an angelfish." He says with a smile. "I have one at home. There are three types of angelfish--" Once you ask a question about sealife you have now lost Max. Gabriella thought as she smiles watching him name every fish in the aquarium. She loved the way his face would lit up when talking about fishes. She never saw him look this when he plays baseball. When he is playing ball is never smiles he is very serious. The only time he would smile is when he would win a game and his dad would come by and give him a huge hug. She started to think maybe he doesn't like baseball and only plays to please his dad. Gabriella knows that he doesn't want to run his father's company like everyone wants him too.
"You should be a marine biologist," Gabriella says interrupting Max. Max stops talking and looks at Gabriella in shocked.
"W--Why do you say that?" He says suddenly becoming nervous.
"What do you mean why? you love sealife and know every species in the book." She says. "I think you would do well." She says as she takes a step forward dragging Max along with her.
Max doesn't say anything and keeps to himself. The continue to hold hand while walking around the aquarium. After an hour of walking, they decided to go to the food court and get something to eat.
"How can you love fish but also eat them?" Gabriella says laughing. Max looks down at his fish sticks he is eating and smiles. "I--I never thought about that before." He says blushing. Max continues to look down at his plate. He is stuck between continuing to eat the food he just paid for or to be compassionate. Max looks at Gabriella to see she is looking at him. Max dips his fish sticks int he sauce and quickly turns away to eat it.
