Today is Christmas Eve and we are having a Christmas party. I invited my friends to come because I wanted us to not only spend time together but to just make sure everyone was okay with what happened. I was in the kitchen with Suga Mama helping her with the chicken when Gabriella came in "Is there anything I could help you with?" She said. I looked up at her and smiled.
"No, it's okay we're almost finished." I said.
"When Max is in the kitchen he doesn't like anyone interrupting him." Auntie E says walking behind Gabriella. I hear her whisper something into Gabriella's ear causing her to laugh.
"Hey what lies are you telling?" I ask having a feeling it's about me.
"Hey, It's the truth." Auntie E says laughing and walking away. I glare as she leaves and goes into the living room. Gabriella walks up next to me to see me putting the chicken in the oven.
"Everything smells so good in here. I'm not used to others cooking for me besides my family." She says. "I am usually the one serving the food."
"Well if you like you could help set the table?" I said washing my hands in the kitchen sink.
Gabriella and I go into the dining room and set the table.
"I don't know what my auntie told you---"
"She told me the real reason why you love to spend so much time in the kitchen is that you love to spend time with your grand--I mean Suga Mama." She says with a smile. I blush and look away.
"Yeah well--" I made my voice deep to sound manly. "It's not like I spend so much time in the kitchen. I am just thankful for them." I said.
"Well I find it---" Gabriella walks over to me and leans in close "Sexy when I a man knows his ways around the kitchen." My heart was fasting so fast and my throat became suddenly dry.
"Um...I--I" I was lost for words and Gabriella was so close that I could smell her perfume. She smelled like roses and it was driving me crazy.
"Max there is---"
Beep, Beep, Beep
The timer for the chicken went off.
"Of the chicken is ready." I said taking a step back "Could you tell the others that dinner is ready." I said quickly leaving the dining room and going to the kitchen. Once the food was set on the table everyone took a seat. I sit next to Jackie as always and Alexander sat on her left side. Jace sits across from Alexander and Gabriella sits across from me. And as always Granddad sits at the head of the table with Suga Mama sitting on his left side. Granddad says grace and we all dig in.
