When I finally awoke, I was placed on a gigantic pillow with a bit of cloth placed over me. To the left of me the giant was preparing breakfast. I was hopeful that after yesterday this was for me to eat and for not me to be eaten. I saw the giant produce what looked like a large button, in which he served- what was that he was serving? It looked like snot in a bowl. Eww.
The giant placed it down in front of me. How was I supposed to eat it? With my fingers? How was I supposed to eat it at all?
"Um... thank you for this... but... uh..." I began.
"Eat," grumbled the Giant.
"Um... no thank you..."
"Eat," the Giant said again.
"I'm not really that hungr..."
"EAT!" The Giant screamed, smashing his hand down on the table and causing the contents of the plate to splatter all over the floor.
Recovering from the ringing pain in my ears, I had the nerve to smile at him and say, "Well, I can't eat it now, can I?"
The giant went to pick up the button but I held on to it with all my might. "I... agh! I told you I'm not hungry, thank you!"
With this, the Giant roared and lifted me up onto the table, dropping me, but not from a height. "Oww," I said, getting up. I stared up at the Giant. He looked at me and his face fell. He made to leave but I called- "Wait! Thank you for this stay but... uh... I want to go home, please." Sadly, the Giant held out his hand for me to climb on to and he carried me away.
After the journey back, which was less rough than the first time, the Giant place me back through the window. "Hey," I smiled, gratefully. "Thank you."
The Giant nodded. "Princess," he whispered (as quiet as a Giant could whisper) and stroked my face a few times before bounding away.
As soon as he had left there was a knock at the door. "Your highness!" A maid called. "May I come in?"
I looked at the shattered window and at the state of the room, and my dress. When the maid opened the door, she screamed. "Princess!" she cried, turning white. "Oh gosh... Princess!" Before I could say a word, the maid rushed back down the stair case and out towards the castle.
I knew what was coming. The next thing I knew I heard the thud of steps. The door swung open. My father stood at the top of the steps, face red.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!" he hollered. "WHAT HAVE YOU TURNED INTO?"
"Father... I can explain..."
"No, I will hear none of it. Seeing as you cannot be trusted even to stay in the tower, the only place left for you is the dungeon."
I had heard stories of the dungeon. Of the mad men, and the crooks, all the evil that lay there. If I ever heard a bang from under my room, I would assume it was coming from the dungeon.
"Father... please..." But my pleads fell on deaf ears as I was taken away by the guards.
