*Chester's POV*
"Quiet, now," Smokey warned. "We need to sneak up on him. Bring the Giant down and kill him, then retrieve the Princess. Got it?"
We all mumbled our agreements. "The cave is awfully dark," I said. "Can't we light some wood or something?"
"Good thing I brought some, boy," the man next to me whispered. "Now shush."

*Heather's POV*
We all lay sound asleep on the Giant's stomach, slowly rising up and down. Reade and I had snuggled up together, and we had stayed that way.
I awoke a while later, and sat up, looking over at Reade and then the peacefully sleeping Dwarfs. These people were the most amazing people on Earth. They had helped me escape from the dungeons and then offered me a home and the love that I had very much been needing. These people were now my family, and I loved them very much. Just then, I saw a very faint light further down the cave.
"Reade. Reade!" I shook him frantically, but quietly. "Look!"
Reade sat up. "What is that?"
"It's a light of some sort. There are people coming, Reade!"
"Should we wake the others?"
"I don't know... those people could be good or they could be bad."
"Let's not approach them, Heather. Just pretend to be asleep or something; see what they do."
"If you say so." We lay down again but I couldn't stop myself from trying to see who it was. As the light got closer, I could see a large group of men, all holding weapons, making their way towards the Giant.
"Reade!"
"Heather, stay asleep!"
"No, look what they're holding. This doesn't look good..."
Then, without warning, one of the men shouted something and they all charged at the Giant. "No!" I screamed. The men looked up.
"Stop!" an older looking man pointed up at me. "Your Highness," he bowed, "we are here to save you."
"Save me? I don't need sav-"
The Giant had lifted his head up and seen the men. He swiftly put Reade, the dwarfs and I up on the table and then jumped on to his feet, causing the ground to shake and the men to fall over. As they recollected themselves, the Giant made his way towards them.
"Stay back!" Another voice from the crowd of men called. The voice sounded so familiar. As he pushed his way to the front, sword out, I realised why...
"Chester!"
He looked up at me. "Heather!" he shouted up at me. I covered my hand over my mouth in shock. "Heather, listen to me. I love you so much! Hold on up there! We will save you! Come on, men! For Heather!"
"For Heather!" the men chorused, and this time they did attack, and didn't stop.
At the same time the men plunged their swords into the Giant's feet, causing him to fall to the floor in agony. Waterfalls of blood gushing from his feet swept the men back a bit, but they each plunged forward and stabbed him in different places. The Giant was screaming and crying in torment, unable to do anything.
"No!" I was petrified and longing to be able to comfort the Giant. I noticed Chester scrambling along the Giant's feet and up along his stomach.
"No! Chester, please! You don't understand-"
"This is for you Heather!" Chester shouted, and plunged his sword straight inbetween the Giant's eyes. The Giant coughed and spluttered, before his head dropped and rolled to the side. He was silent.
I fell to my knees. "No!" I was in hysterics as Reade rocked me, kissing my head.
"It's OK, it's OK..." he tried to reassure me.

"No, it's not OK!" I broke free from him. "It's not OK!" The dwarfs, who had been asleep through the whole of this, slowly started waking up due to my shouts.
"Oh my gosh!" Gabuth covered his eyes, Toregoth threw up, Hadak fainted, Thrargeam turned away and Shamrak ran and hugged me when they saw the Giant's lifeless body.
I pushed Skamrak away from me and ran to edge of the table to call down to the triumphant looking men. "Get us down! Get us down right now!"

When we finally got down, Chester ran up to me and kissed me, hard. "I've missed you. Oh, my darling, I've missed you so much!" I shoved myself away from him.
"Get away from me!"
Chester's facial expression changed to shock.
"What?"
"I said get away from me!"
"Heather-" he grabbed my arm as I turned away but stopped when I slapped him hard across the face. His hand came up to his face, but he was more hurt mentally than physically. "I don't understand," he said, more calmly. "We saved you."
The waterworks started again. "Saved me from what? There was nothing to save me from! The Giant was a good person, he wouldn't hurt anybody unless protecting me, and you killed him! You killed him!" I broke down again.
Reade and the Dwarfs hugged me. I turned to the men. "Go," I told them. "Go back to the village. Claim your fame and fortune and whatever the hell else you want. But live with the consequences of knowing that you killed someone who didn't deserve to die at all!"
"But he killed those men!"
"He was defending himself!"
"He kidnapped you!"
"He was lonley! You guys think you're lonley old sods, but trust me, you would never have felt what the Giant felt if it bit you in the butt! Now go!"
The men lowered their heads and turned to leave. Before he exited, Chester turned round to me. "Heather," he said. I'm so sorry. Believe me. If I'd have known... look, I still love you. I will always love you. I thought I was doing all of this for you. I'm so sorry. Just, please, don't forget me." And that was the last I ever saw of Chester Walsh.
