The Giant carried on humming and making his food while I lay on the cold floor inside the cage. I wondered just why I had saved the Giant. I guess it was after the moment I had shared with the Giant, where I thought his heart was actually good, if not a bit lonley. This was why he had taken me, but I couldn't live in this cage all my life with him, and he knew that. But his lonliness blinded him, and he tried to ignore this fact.

I tried to voice this to him many times, but the Giant just ignored me. "Food?" he asked me, holding the bowl of brown slime he had made towards me. The smell made me want to vomit. I shook my head. The Giant just shrugged and sat down at his table to eat, all the while watching me. When he had finished he moved the bowl aside and got up. He brought out a large cup.

"Drink?" he asked. I shook my head again. I wasn't going to accept anything from him. Maybe that way he would find me annoying enough to let me go. The Giant sat down again and watched me for a while in silence before saying- "Sing?"

"No," I said bluntly.
"Dance?"
"No."
The Giant sighed. "What do you want?"
"I want to go home," I told him.
"Tell me a story," the giant said, attempting to change the subject.
"There was a girl named Heather who was taken by a Giant to his cave and wanted to go home..."
"NO!" The Giant roared, slamming his fists on the table. "ENOUGH!"

I turned away from him in the cage. I could feel his eyes on me as he sighed again. "Princess," he said, more calmly. "Look at me. Look at me Princess." He opened the cage door and reached in and spun me around with his finger. I made to turn around again, but the giant spun me round to face him again. Then he began to laugh. He laughed with glee and he spun me round and round until I fell onto my back.

"Ow!" I said, sitting up and rubbing my back. "Don't do that."
The Giant's face dropped a bit. "I just want you to be happy," he said, and lowered his head.
"Giant," I stood up and put my hands on the bars. "I know you do. But you know the only way I can be truly happy is if you take me back to Reade."
"Reade?" the Giant scratched his head.
"Yeah, Reade. The boy I was with when you took me again."
The Giant stood up suddenly. "Reade," he said. "You only happy with Reade. Well, I'll get Reade. I'll bring Reade to you!"
"No! Wait-" I shouted, but the Giant had already bounded out of the entrance of the cave.
