Chapter 5

Night had fallen, and the police had City Hall completely surrounded from the front by their vehicles, a fence, and a crazy amount of guns. But, you could tell the police were scared out of their pants, you were pretty sure you had seen one of them accidently wet themselves after a minute or so of waiting.

You were now watching in the shadows of another building close by, using the darkness to your advantage, your new little friend staying closely beside you.

Out of nowhere, a smoke bomb went off, and the police rushed to the front keeping their guns ready, but they were still so terrified their weapons shook in their trembling hands. You watched in awe as beams of neon colored light appeared from a swarm of brain bots, and from the smoke of a bright explosion, appeared Minion and Megamind.

"There he is!" You gasped in your head, smiling and feeling more excited than you ever have in your whole life.

Megamind was confidently marching his way over, and you could hear the song 'Highway to hell' playing on Minion's boom box.

"Drop 'em!" Megamind commanded, laughing evilly.

Every single officer either lowered their gun or placed it on the ground, still shaking in fear. "That's right... you better listen to him if you know what's good for you." You smirked.

Megamind danced around taunting the officers in his path, then he pinched the mayor's cheeks, teasingly laughing. He ran up the stairs, outstretching his arms as if he were flying, then turned to face the crowd and motioned for Minion to turn off the boom box. He seemed to know what he was doing, but then the song 'Loving You' started playing instead.

Megamind looked at Minion as if he were crazy for a moment as he continued to fumble with the buttons, then he finally just punched the darn thing and it stopped.

Megamind abruptly grabbed a microphone from a somewhat feminine looking brain-bot, then hit it a few times and blew into it as a way of testing it, he was giving minion a long stare the whole time.

Then he smiled to the crowd and said: "First off, what a turn out! How wild is this, huh?" He laughed at the end. Everyone in the crowd remained silent. He continued: "All I did, was eliminate the most powerful man in the universe. Are there any questions? Go on! "

Roxanne raised her hand. "Of course..." You rolled your eyes.

"Yes! You in the back." Megamind said, pointing to her.

"I'm sure we'd all like to know what you plan to do with us, and this city." Roxanne inquired. All the reporters looked to Megamind like little lost puppies. Megamind's smile had fallen for a moment but he brought it back and replied: "Good, I'm glad you asked that. Imagine, the most horrible, terrifying, evil thing you can possibly think of, and multiply it... by six!"

You suddenly saw Minion looking around in the crowd for something, then he smiled upon looking at you.

Why would Minion be happy to see you? Or was it the brain-bot?

You looked to the brain-bot then at Minion, pointing to it as a way of asking: "Were you looking for this one?" Minion moved his little fish body left and right meaning 'no'. Then you pointed at yourself, and he nodded. You were surprised.

The brain-bot snuggled into you again like earlier, making you hold it again with a small giggle.

"Maybe it was him who sent the bot to me?" You wondered.

Megamind finished his speech and both he and Minion went into the City Hall, leaving everyone gaping and looking at one another in unease.

You smirked a little from behind your helmet as you gently petted your new bot friend, deciding that since there was no longer any real order around here you'd get started with some more painting tomorrow. Heck, maybe you'd go steal some black spray-paint to go with the blue for extra details while you were at it.
