When you finally came to you felt uncomfortably hot, but your forehead felt cold, offering you some relief. You managed to open your eyes after lying there for another moment, but quickly closed them once more due to the brightness of the room being almost unbearable at first. You slowly re-opened your eyes, waiting a few minutes for them to adjust, and once they did you noticed you were staring up at a red ceiling.
Wait a minute... where are you?!
You abruptly sat up, which was a mistake because your head started to pound, and the icepack that'd been resting on your forehead fell to the floor with an audible crunch from the ice. You clutched your head in your arms and groaned.
Wait, your head?
You touched your face, quickly realizing your helmet was gone.
"Where is it..?!" You gasped weakly, looking around and noticing you were in an unfamiliar room. You noticed at least dozens of colored papers hanging from the ceiling by red strings, and you raised a brow despite your head still hurting.
Though you had a feeling you'd regret it, you forced yourself to stand from the brown couch you'd been lying on, causing the small blanket that'd been resting in your lap to fall to the floor as well. The second you got on your feet you nearly toppled over, but you quickly regained your balance, refusing to give in.
But just as you were about to go looking for your helmet, you heard the sound of slippers slapping onto the wooden flooring, quickly drawing near.
"What was that noi--? Oh! You shouldn't be standing up yet!" None other than Roxanne herself stated, approaching you and gently easing you back onto the couch. You would've shoved her hands away but your headache and current body temperature rendered you too weak to do anything.
"Wh-Where did you take me..?" You managed to mumble as she lied you back down, setting the icepack back on your forehead, allowing the heat that had flared up to die down a bit.
"I brought you to my apartment after you passed out. Being out there in the rain like that was taking a terrible toll on you, so I tried to hurry. I washed and dried your clothes for you, too, I'll go get them. Stay right there." After making sure you were settled in she walked off. That was when you realized you were in nothing but a big, baggy shirt. There was a large, black rose in the middle while the rest was pure white.
You wanted to roll your eyes, but you were still too out of it to do much. You wondered how Neo was doing, the poor bot was probably worried sick since you didn't come back, but hopefully he was safe. As for Megamind, well, you tried not to care at this point. For once, you were actually on the reporter's side for what she said to him. He needed that wake-up call.
After another five minutes passed you saw her come back with your clothes, plus your helmet was sitting on top.
"Your skateboard is by the door, so you don't need to worry about where it is." She mentioned, placing your belongings on a chair by the couch.
"Let me guess... you did this because I helped you, right..?" You asked, raising a brow at her. Surely she wouldn't do this unless she owed you, it wouldn't make any sense otherwise.
