Chapter 12

From that day on you and Neo would stay at the lair together and look after things while Megamind and Minion would spend the mornings and afternoons training Hal to master his newfound powers.

Apparently Megamind followed through with his plan to literally 'create a hero', and Hal now had every power Metro Man had, or at least that was what you assume has happened since there really wasn't any other logical explanation. You had seen Hal with your own eyes before and after, so what else could you think?

Megamind and Minion finally returned for the day once again, only Megamind looked a little banged up this time.

Some brain-bots set him on a stool and gave him an ice bag plus a pair of bandages for his head. You couldn't help but wonder what had happened. "He's hopeless. Hopeless!" Megamind stated in defeat, shaking his head.

Minion was for some reason brushing a blonde, curly haired wig on top of a mannequin head at the moment. "Maybe we should change tactics." Minion suggested with an optimistic smile.

"You think so?" Megamind looked up at him from his slumped position. "Oh, you know how boys are. They love video games. I could throw a few parts together." Minion replied, thinking to himself afterwards.

Megamind started watching you as you played around with Neo, recalling the events from when you first met.

"Minion, I want to know who exactly this child is." He suddenly said, making Minion stop and register what he said. "Oh? Well... from what I know so far, they are a very big fan of you, sir." Minion explained.

"Aren't fans those things that spin in circles endlessly and make wind blow in your face?" Megamind raised a brow.

Minion chuckled a little. "Well, yes, but the kind of fan they are is that they really like you and the things that you do, sir." Megamind looked back at you with an inquisitive expression. "They... like me?" He mumbled.

You looked over at them after a moment and that was when you noticed Megamind's stare, then Minion motioned for you to come to them as he set down the mannequin head. You and Neo looked at each other for a moment before you quietly rode on your skateboard towards them. You were a bit nervous to go near Megamind considering the first encounter you had with him was a pretty frightening experience, but you still did so.

"What is your name, child?" Megamind asked, setting his ice bag aside. You hesitated before speaking as you stepped off of your skateboard. "(Y-Y/n), sir." Megamind hummed quietly, as if taking your name into thought, then Neo nuzzled you and barked slightly, making you giggle and hold him. Megamind looked surprised at this.

"You and that brain-bot certainly seem close..." He pointed out quietly.

"I've actually known him for a pretty long time, since back when you killed Metro Man actually. I even gave him a name." You didn't actually mean to say all that, but it was too late to take it back. "Oh? And what would that be?" He raised a brow.

"N-Neo." 

Megamind hummed again. "That name's not half bad." You smiled a little.

"So, I heard someone call you by: 'Megapainter', I believe it was. What exactly does that name mean?" He tilted his head a little.

The big moment of truth has arrived, time to find out what he'll think.

"Oh, um... I'm a bit of a graffiti artist, I go around painting buildings with 'M's as a way of showing my support to you. But most of the time the police always erase them." You frowned at the last part.

Megamind looked intrigued. "Is that so? Then how about you show me one of these, 'M's?"

Wait, did you hear him correctly?

"Sh-Show you one?" You clarified. Megamind nodded. "I'm interested in seeing your work. You know what? Let's go right now!" He stood and motioned for you to follow, smiling a little.

You looked to Minion for approval, and he nodded in response, motioning for you to go ahead. You couldn't help but give a little squeak of excitement and skip a bit before following after Megamind, ecstatic to have the chance to show your inspiration himself what you could really do.
