Weeks went by, and nothing got better, in fact, it got worse.
Over time, Megamind began to completely ignore you altogether, even if you were in the same room he seemed to be so distracted that he didn't even acknowledge your presence anymore. He was on the phone all the time, and he always had this weird, mischievous smile whenever he was. The minute he was done training Hal he left to do his own things, leaving you and Minion to talk amongst yourselves.
"Do you think I did something wrong?" You questioned, holding Neo in your lap in an attempt to comfort yourself as you were on the brink of despair.
Your fish friend was sitting beside you, keeping a metal hand on your back as he tried to soothe you as well with a worried look. "Of course not! You've never acted out, well-- not in a way we'd find 'bad', anyhow. I don't see a reason why it would be your fault he's acting so weird." He argued.
Neo nuzzled against you with a quiet bark, looking up at you with his glowing eye while his metal arms kept themselves around your body as a way of cradling you.
"But... it's like I don't even exist to him anymore..." You replied.
"Well, whatever the reason, I'm sure it'll all be alright once he fights Titan tomorrow. Today's his last day of training!" Minion tried to encourage you. You looked over at him through the glass of your helmet, still not knowing what to do.
"When do you have to leave with Megamind?"
Just when Minion was about to answer, the blue alien himself appeared and started up the invisible car.
"Let's go, Minion!" He called, not even looking over at either of you as he climbed in.
"Yes, sir!" Minion called back, but paused after he grabbed his disguise before joining his boss.
You looked up at the suited fish, lifting up the glass of your helmet to reveal your dismal expression.
Minion sighed, kneeling down and placing his large metal hand on top of your helmet.
"Don't worry, once this is all over, I'm sure everything will go back to the way it was." He gave you a smile, and you found yourself smiling back. He was just so... cute! You couldn't resist him.
You nodded, and he stood before rushing to the car when Megamind called again.
"Any day now, Minion!"
"Coming, sir!"
The minute Minion climbed in to the car they sped off, leaving you and Neo in the dusty lair.
That afternoon you decided to get some fresh air, but not even the fear of the city folk could lift your spirits.
You passed countless blank walls that would've made perfect painting spots, but you didn't have the heart to even touch a spray-can. You just rolled down the streets in silence, your brain-bot companion affectionately clinging to your shirt with his arms to stay close to you.
"Ah! The Megapainter!" Somebody cried, and three others gasped before taking cover.
You could only sigh as you passed by, leaving the previously scared group of people to watch feeling both relieved and dumbfounded.
An hour went by before Neo led you back to the lair, but he suddenly stopped you before ushering you back to your hole.
"What's up, Neo?" You looked at your bot-buddy with slight concern.
Neo barked and offered you a black cube that enlarged into a familiar tablet. It was the device he gave you the night you first spoke to Megamind.
