Night and Day- Six

Baron trotted to his side of the clearing, Leila in hers. Natalie sat on a tree stump between the two but over on the edge of the clearing. The two Pokemon looked menically at each other, growling. Leila started to circle the houndoom and Baron the same. He fire and dark type Pokemon took a step toward Leila, snapping his jaws and snarling.

"You two really want to fight I guess." Natalie observed. "Leila, you're going first. Quick Attack."

Without hesitation, her paws flew from under her, making the wind around her grow silvery-white. When she was a second away, Baron jumped diagonal from her, looking calm and not growling he was just doing.

"Flamerthrower." the Pokemon heard their trainer whisper.

Baron took another step back before opening his mouth and a fierce Flamethrower come out. Leila ducked then used Shadow Ball, without waiting for Natalie to tell. The houndoom fell face first as he front paws were takin out from under him. He saw Leila watching him with wide yellow eyes and laying on the ground.

"That would work. Baron, Dark Pulse."

The dark and fire type Pokemon felt his body tense up, releasing dark purple flames. Leila jumped over one, but another one hit her in the face. She fell backward and Baron was over to her in a second. He stood over her, his red eyes watching her as she struggled.

"Iron Tail."

Without knowing it, Baron was hit with a silver tail in the side. He fell over and Leila jumped up and ran to a tree, jumping from one tree to the next before stopping on a low branch, watching what Baron would do. His body tensed up again and the purple flames came again, heading straight for Leila. She ran and jumped from tree branch to tree branch, until one hit her and others were coming. She turned to it and hit the last few with Iron Tail, making them go up in dark grey smoke.

A large Flamethrower came toward Leila, making her jump away to the nearest branch as the tree top caught on fire. Why did he go and have to do that for? She was about to jump down and free fight him when a medium sized Water Gun splashed the tree and reduced the flames. Looking down, she saw it was Quan, the croconaw looking happy for what he had done. Then, he went over to watch the battle.

Baron now saw Leila, or at least a blue ring from her side. She was so dark and agile, he couldn't keep up with her. He saw her yellow eyes flash before disappearing again in the leaves. He didn't want to use Flamethrower again, because Quan was glaring at him. He didn't know what to do. He shot a glance at Natalie, but she was also in deep thought.

"Might as well use your non-popular move, right? Fire Fang!" his trainer finally decides.

He shows his teeth began to heat up with life. Snapping his jaws, he saw flames rise up and he growls with triumph. Baron saw the hiding umbreon, her eyes wide with fright and curiosity.

"Leila, you have to come down here!" Natalie calls out.

Leila sighs, but doesn't object as she lands on all fours down on the earth again. She looks at Baron's flaming teeth and she begins to thing otherwise. His red eyes were beginning to glow with the fire in his mouth. Without knowing it, Baron lunged at her, making her use Shadow Ball as a reaction. He moves aside, dodging it before opening his flameing jaws and biting down on her body. Feeling the heat on her fur, she struggles before using Dark Pulse, making Baron back up, his teeth extinguished of the flames. Leila felt heat rising on her before fire covers her body, burning her. They extinguished quickly, but she felt her energy waning quickly.

"Well, never felt the burning experience, have you?" Natalie asked.

Growling at her trainer, Leila uses Quick Attack, hitting Baron in the chest and making him back up a few steps from the impact. Wheezing painfully, Baron growls and uses Dark Pulse to buy some time. From the corner of his eye, he saw Leila use Iron Tail over and over again before all the flames were out. He got his breath back and jumped into the air, curling in a ball then bursting into flames. Jumping diagonal, Leila used Iron Tail, twisting in the air.
