Present Day

That night was one of the best nights of my life, I enjoyed every minute of it. DeVanté knew exactly what he was doing. He had this way of making me feel like a little girl that needed to be taken care of and he did just that, he took care of my needs. My virginity was precious to me, losing it to DeVanté made it all the more precious. My feelings for him increased and I became attached to him. We started spending most of our time with each other. A lot of that time was spent having sex. We just couldn't get enough, it we were addicted to one another. This went on for the next two weeks or so.

One day I started noticing a few changes in the way he acted towards me. I can't remember the exact date, but it was the end of July. DeVanté started acting different. He would start smoking and drinking more often, which led to him having attitude problems. I had been down this road with him before, so I knew the signs of what was to come. Well, I should've known...

July, 1993

Bria had went back to California to get prepared for her Senior year the next month in August. I didn't want her to go back by herself, but she knew I wanted to stay so she insisted that I did. My college classes weren't starting until September, so I still had a few weeks to stay.

I was at Tionne's house, because I had been staying with DeVanté the last couple of weeks and hadn't really spoken to her. After all, my point in even being in town was to spend time with my cousin, not DeVanté.

"So how DeVanté treatin' you?" Tionne asked.

I smiled to myself at the thought of him. "He's been treating me good," I said. "Real good..." I put emphasis on "real" to give her a hint of what I meant.

She raised an eyebrow as she eyed me. Her eyes widened as she gasped and jumped up from the couch "Morgan Reign Johnson, you have been getting dick!" she yelled. I couldn't control my laughter as she jumped up and down while pointing at me. "Oh my GOD, cousin you are fast!"

I stale faced her. "Now don't sit up here and act like you're not the one that basically hooked me up with him in the first place, and that was before I was even legal."

She smacked her lips. "I didn't really "hook y'all up," she said.

"Tionne you gave the man Aunt Gayle's address, where I was living."

"He asked," she said in defense. "When I was sixteen I had a flirtin' buddy that was twenty. That's all I thought it would be between you and DeVanté, I didn't think y'all would get so serious."

"Whatever," I said playfully.

She smiled and looked at me in awe. "I just can't believe you really been freakin' DeVanté Swing. Is he big? He got good stroke?" she asked.

"That is none of your business," I said. She smacked her lips. "But yes... to both of your questions."

"AAAAH SHIT, you go girl!" she yelled.

I laughed and looked at the time on my wrist watch, it was nine fourty-two at night. I had planned on going back to DeVanté's house, but it was getting late and why not stay with my cousin?

"Hold up for minute," I said while going upstairs to get my phone and call DeVanté.

I looked around the room and didn't see it. Thinking of where it could be, I groaned as I remembered seeing it on DeVanté's dresser as I left his house. I went back downstairs to see Tionne wasn't there.
