KELLIN'S POV
The sun had risen and nothing strange had happened since the weird store cupboard thing. If Jesse wasn't there, I would've thought I imagined it.
Oh, and the stinging gash on my forehead.Vic walked out of the small room, yawning.
'Finish the song?' I asked.
He scrunched his nose and shrugged, 'Kinda, I might add more later.'I nodded.
There was a thump on the store cupboard door.
The blood drained from my face.
Jesse appeared, landing next to me.
I looked at him, he looked back.
'Do you think something got through?' He asked.
I didn't say anything.'Kellin?' Vic asked.
I snapped out of my daze and faced Vic.
'Uhh, yeah.' I said, averting my eyes back to the door.
'You okay..?' He asked, warily.
I nodded.
'You wanna get some brunch?' He asked.
I nodded, jumping at the opportunity to leave.
'The guys should be here late afternoon, is that okay?' He asked.
I nodded again and headed outside.'Oh.. I don't have any money.' I said.
'It's okay, I'll pay.' He said.
I nodded, then realised I couldn't eat anyway.
'Uhh, thanks?' I said. I hope he didn't think I was weird by not eating.I looked up at the building, looking for the timer.
3 hours.
It had added one on.
That should be okay.
We walked around the corner, immediately in view of the cafe Vic was taking me.I immediately stopped.
I knew this place.
I went here with Gabe once.
Gabe.I shook my head and carried on.
'Okay?' Vic asked.
I nodded and pushed the thought out.We stopped outside and looked at the menu.
'Whatcha want?' Vic asked.
I hesitated.
'I'm not really hungry.' I replied.
'Come on, you didn't eat last time.' He said.
I shrugged and looked at the floor.
'I don't mind paying if that's it.' He said.
I shook my head, 'No.. I just..'
'What?'
'I don't like eating in front of loads of people. I mean I know they're not looking, but.. I don't know.'
That wasn't a complete lie, I don't like eating in front of people.'It's okay, I know the guy who owns the place. He can get us upstairs. No one goes up there.' Vic smiled.
I shook my head, 'no, I wouldn't want to be annoying.'He frowned, 'It wouldn't be a problem.'
I sighed and finally gave in.
I mean, the waffles are to die for.
I smirked at myself, to die for.
Don't think I can say that now.We entered the cafe, not many people were in there.
There was a low chatter hovering in the air, with glass clinking and plates clashing.Nothing has changed.
'Hey Alex, upstairs?' Vic asked the guy behind the till.
'Sure.' He nodded.
Vic smiled at me and led me upstairs.
'Thanks.'
'Welcome' He smiled again.
----------
I scraped the plate clean. It had been so long since I had waffles, and god were they nice.'Thanks.' I said to vic.
He smiled, 'any time.'I checked my watch.
I had 1 hour.
We were about to leave when his phone rang.
He frowned, 'sorry gotta get this.'
He took his phone out and put it to his ear.'Heeello?
'Tony?'
'Where's mike'
'Nice to know.'
'I know I did'
'I didn't want detail.'I frowned.
Mikes on the toilet He mouthed to me
I laughed quietly.
Nice.'So whats up anyway?'
'What?!'
'How long?'
'Urghhh.'
'Okay.'
'Yup'
'Yup'
'K then' He said with a roll of his eyes.
'Yup.'
'Okay.'
'See ya .. I guess.''What's up?' I asked.
He sighed, 'Flights cancelled, they can't get a new flight till Sunday.'
'Oh..what's the day today?' I asked feeling quite stupid.
Vic laughed slightly, 'Its Tuesday.'
I nodded.'I checked my watch.
45 minutes.'We should probably get going, I need to finish my song.' He said.
I nodded and got up.'I'm really sorry for making you pay.' I said.
'Nah, its fine.' He chuckled.
'Sorry.' I said again.
He frowned, 'It's like.. $7, It really doesn't matter.'
I shrugged.'Thanks Alex!' He called whilst we walked out the cafe.
We walked back to the building.
'Vic... I know this is a stupid question, but what is the building?' I asked.
'What building?' He frowned.
'Uhh.. the one I live in.' I whispered.
Vic laughed softly.
'It used to be a recording studio, they changed it a few years ago.''Oh.'
'Why don't you know that?' He asked.
'I-uh... I moved in last year so..'
'Is it legal? Like, for you to be living there?' He asked.'Uhh.' I scratched the back of my head, 'yeah? Yeah it is.'
'Rigghtt....'
I nodded slowly and walked through the doors of the old recording studio, also known as my home.Jesse hovered in the door.
'Do you think the thing is here?' He asked.I stopped. I completely forgot.
I had such a great meal with vic I forgot about the weird things that have been happening.I stepped in and shrugged.
'Oh! I was meant to get some snacks. Sorry, I'm gunna quickly pop to Walmart. Do you want anything?' Vic asked.
I shook my head.
I didn't want him to leave me but what could I say?Oh by the way, don't leave. There's a possibility of an evil ghost that's come through a portal.
No.
'I'll be back soon.' He said, walking back out the door.
I nodded.'I'm searching about portals.' Jesse said.
'K.' I replied, looking around.
Crash
I whipped round.
'Hello?!' I called.
The only answer was a low chuckle.
