Chapter 32

KELLINS POV
I took a shaky breath and slowly started to turn around.
Before I turned, I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.
I jumped in shock but soon relaxed when I smelt vic's scent as he hugged me.
I let out a cry of relief as my knees buckled.
He caught me in time, slowly sliding down the wall, cradling me in his muscular arms.
'I didn't know if I'd ever find you again.' I sobbed, soaking his shirt with tears.
'I know.' He whispered, running his hands through my hair.
'I missed you so much.' I cried.
' I missed you too.'
We stayed in each others arms for a minute more, simply enjoying each others company.

Vic shuffled a bit before speaking, 'I feel like we're not the only ones that have been reunited.' He smiled, nodding towards Jesse and a girl with bright red hair.

'Is that..?' I asked.
'Hayley.' Vic said, confirming my unfinished question.
I smiled, seeing how happy they both looked together.

I sat up slightly and kissed Vic, missing the feeling of his soft lips on mine.
I felt a smile grow on his lips as he connected his with mine.
I pulled away and looked down blushing, it felt like it had been centuries since we did that.

Hayley cleared her throat, getting my attention.
I got up and greeted her, 'Hi, I'm k-'
'Kellin, yeah Vic told me about you.' She smiled.
I blushed and raised an eyebrow.
'Oh.' I smirked.

'Anyway,' Hayley started, 'wanna get some food or something?' she asked.
We all nodded apart from Vic who looked unsure.
'Won't people be creeped out by floating food?' He asked.
Hayley shook her head, 'I know where to go, don't worry.'

'Here we are.' Hayley said, looking up at an old building.
'Here?' Vic asked.
She nodded eagerly and opened the front door, walking in with a skip in her step.

'Hiya Hayley!' The man at the bar said.
'Hi frank!' She smiled back.
'Wow, are these your friends?' Frank said in astonishment.
'Haha.' Hayley replied dryly.
'He can see us?' Jesse asked.
'Yurp, they're all like us.' She stated,
'They're everywhere, you just don't notice because you think they're part of the living.'

'So the whole time I was alive, I was surrounded by the dead... and I never knew?' Vic asked.
She nodded.

'There's a whole community of us, just like there is the living.' She said.
'How come the world isn't over run by the dead then? I mean, we live forever in this form.' I asked.
'Some don't stay.' She answered.
'They choose?' Jesse asked.
She shook her head, 'Fate chooses.'
'Kellin, if you didn't stay on earth, you wouldn't have met vic.' She said.
I smiled at the realisation.
'So vic must have stayed because fate knew you'd find him.' Hayley said.
Vic grinned at me and grabbed my hand, lacing his fingers with mine.

'Kellin Quinn, I love you so much.' He whispered.
