KELLIN'S POV
I sat on the same balcony that I always sit on.

Dinner last night was actually okay. There's a lot I didn't know about Vic.

I sighed and checked the time.
5.55 am

Vic would probably still be sleeping.
I sighed once more and clambered down from the balcony, floating to the floor and landing gently.

A cracking nose came from the store cupboard.
'Jesse?' I called out, slowly edging towards the cupboard.

'Whose Jesse.'

I whipped round to find a sleepy looking Vic walking across the room, rubbing his eyes.

'Uh, there used to be an old cleaner, I heard a noise so..' I lied.

'Oh, okay.' He said sleepily, yawning and slowly turning round to go back to sleep.
I frowned, was he sleepwalking?

I sighed and edged towards the cupboard.

'Jesse?!' I whisper-yelled.

'What?' A voice came from behind me.
I snapped round, seeing Jesse standing there, looking confused.

'Oh..' I whispered.
'Huh?'
'I heard something from the cupboard.' I stated.
'The store cupboard?' He asked.
I nodded.

He chuckled slightly. 'God, I haven't see anyone go in there for years.'

Right on cue, the nose came again, only this time a bright purple light flashed under the door.

'What the..' Jesse whispered.
'Maybe it's the electrics..'
'Guess we'll find out.' He said, walking up to the door.

'Wait!' I hissed.
'What?'
'What if it's not safe?' I asked.
He laughed, 'I'm already dead, I'm not sure if I can die again.'

But before he could get any closer, the door flew open, releasing blinding lights and ear-piercing shrieks.

I flew back, hitting the wall hard.
The noise wouldn't stop.
Bits of wood flew out, one piece hitting me directly on the fore head.

I could see the figure of Jesse, running towards the door.
'Jesse!' I tried to yell, but the only noise I could hear was the desperate cries coming from the old store cupboard.
Suddenly, the door slammed and everything went quiet, apart from the sharp ringing in my ears.

I looked up to see Jesse, blood trickling down his head, sloping down the closed door, panting.

It went as quickly as it happened.

A warm liquid spread over my forehead.
I reached up to touch it and bought my hand back, looking at it.
Red.

I winced and slowly stood up, leaning against the wall.

'What the hell just happened.' Jesse whispered.
'I have no idea..' I breathed.
The light under the door was dying down now.

'You're bleeding.' We said in unison.
'I didn't even know that was possible..' I whispered.
Jesse sighed and walked into the utility area, wetting a cloth and chucking towards me.

I pressed it against my bloody forehead, hissing as pain spread throughout my head.

'What do you think that was..?' I asked.
He shrugged, 'I don't know, it looked like some sort of portal..' He replied, thoughtfully.

I shivered, though it was hot.

'What the hell is going o- oh my god! Kellin what happened?!' A voice yelled.

I faced Vic, who had just run into the room, and tried to think of a logical explanation.

'Uhhh....I.. uhh, I -I tripped down the stairs.' I said.

He looked at the bits of wood scattered on the floor.

'Kellin.' He said, eyeing me suspiciously.

'Yeah?' I replied.
'There's something you're not telling me. Here, I'll drive you to the doctors to get that bandaged up.' He said, pointing at the wound in my head.

'NO!' I yelled. 'Uhh..'. I cleared my throat.
'Uh, I mean, no it's fine..' I whispered.

'You don't like doctors or something..?' He asked.
I shrugged, 'something like that.'

I couldn't risk it, I know what some doctors are like. It might have taken longer than two hours.

Vic checked his watch, 'What are you doing up at this time anyway?' He asked.

I shrugged, 'I don't know, I guess I don't sleep much.'

That wasn't a complete lie. I don't sleep at all.

He frowned, but nodded nonetheless.

'I'm gunna carry on writing this song, the guys will be here today.' He said, walking back to the smaller room.

I looked at Jesse, a worried expression forming on his face.

'Well, whatever that was, and if it was actually a portal, let's hope nothing got through.' He said.

My heart leapt in my chest.
I didn't even know portals existed and now he's telling me there's a possibility of something getting though.

A possibility of evil.
